'19 GA ATH Owen Pappoe (Auburn signee)

Just jumping in here, fumbling out of the end zone is way too punitive toward the offense.

But it was the offense that fumbled the ball out of the EZ. I don't think the offense should be given a mulligan for fumbling. I am fine with the rule the way it is. The offense does get a break when the fumble goes out of bounds, so I see no reason to also bail the offense out when the fumble goes through the EZ. Just don't fumble. JMO.

Is that the guy who fumbled out of the end zone?
You know that's a pretty dumb rule when they fumble outta the end zone and the other team gets it...... I think they need to change that rule this off season. It wouldn't be hard to cahneg it up I hear it's no big deal.......................

I bet Owen Pappoe thinks the rule should be changed.

First post on VN in about 5 years. Some of you may remember me (MrBamSeydu). I bounced because there was too much random banter, thread hijacking and pointless arguing in the recruiting forum. I see not much has changed. Let me throw some stuff out there so we can, ya know, discuss RECRUITING:

Pappoe to UT is a done deal. Kenyatta is also closer to that than you’d think. Story is already written @VQ with all 3 Grayson kids being UT commits (from a few weeks ago). Pics exist from that day of ALL 3 in UT gear (in a “commitment” type way) at Grayson field.

Important: Is it possible they did that as a “just in case” photo op, yes... but not from what I’ve heard recently. Kenyatta is pretty much playing the game. If he signs with Texas, I’ll be shocked. I’ll love to hear what the VQ guys say if he doesn’t flip since they were all giddy about it. I know they also did individual pics of Pappoe, so it’d still be useful in case Watson heads south.

Two names to keep a real eye on the next few weeks: Bogle (seemed unlikely up until today) and To’oto’o (same). I spoke to 4 former Vols, 2 are coaches in HS. Those two seemed locked to Miami and Bama but relationships at UT (for Bogle it’s Rumph and recruits, for Henry it’s Pruitt and Kevin Simon) have these guys 🤔 at least.

Henry, Middleton and Brown would be first on chopping block if space is needed with a flurry of highly rated kids wanting on board late in the game. McBride is only out if we are full and Ndoma truly wants in (wants to come play with Wright but being pulled hard to OU). Middleton has some issues to overcome and has always been that kid with high ceiling but poor motor/drive. Hard to lose a DT when you need them but his spot may be taken by Norton anyway. They’re almost exactly the same size and Norton is exactly what Middleton isn’t — high motor, tough kid. Staff loves Brown, but if you’re looking at Nolan Smith or Bogle or someone like that and you’ve already bounced Henry and Middleton.... the 2nd TE in the class may need to go. Brown wouldn’t contribute early anyway and with Bailey in, Gilbert looks really good for next year’s class.

Of course, Cox has been rumored as an Auburn lean for months. Now saying he’s waiting until Feb to sign instead of Dec wreaks of leaving UT hanging out to dry. I suspect if we can load up on some of these other cats, Cox will be told his spot is no longer available. Better that than him play us until NSD. Bird in the hand situation...

I’d also keep an eye on Maurer the next few weeks with Bailey committing. I don’t think he decommits, but he’s getting hit up by Urban Meyer now and he COULD get squirmy. He recently posted that he’s “solid” to UT but that was before the Bailey commitment when most had him predicted as a Michigan commit. Plus, Maurer having to hear that Pruitt told Bailey “you’re my QB”.... well.... that’s gotta be tough.

Pappoe to UT is a done deal. No shock, right? What if I told y’all Kenyatta is too? Story is already written @VQ with all 3 Grayson kids from a few weeks ago. I’ve seen pics of ALL 3 in UT gear (in a “commitment” type way) on the Grayson field from the day Price and them were down there. Kenyatta is playing the same game Harrison Bailey played, except he’s actually committed to another school.

Two names to keep a real eye on the next few weeks: Bogle (seemed unlikely up until today) and To’oto’o (same). I spoke to Byron Moore, and 3 other former Vols. Those two are starting to at least get more interesting again. Seemed locked to Miami and Bama but relationships at UT (for Bogle it’s Rumph and recruits, for Henry it’s Pruitt and Kevin Simon) have these guys really rethinking things.

Henry, Brown (don’t need 2 2019 TEs now that we are believed to have a leg up with Arik in ‘20 class — especially since Brown has had injury issues), and Middleton would be first on chopping block if space is needed with a flurry of highly rated kids wanting on board late in the game. McBride is only out if we are full and Ndoma truly wants in (wants to come play with Wright but being pulled hard to OU). Him now saying he’s waiting until Feb to sign instead of Dec wreaks of leaving UT hanging out to dry. I suspect if we can load up on some of these other cats, Cox wil be told his spot is no longer available as well. Better that than him play us until NSD.

I’d also keep an eye on Maurer the next few weeks with Bailey committing. Maurer is being kinda quiet right now beyond a few Twitter RTs, even after he just posted that he’s “solid”. That was before the Bailey commitment and him having to hear that Pruitt told Bailey “your my QB”. Can’t imagine the 2019 class without a QB with only having 2 now on scholly and Bailey not reclassifying, so they may offer a preferred walk on spot to the kid in mid TN if Maurer actually does back out and we are stuck without solid options this late in the game. Numbers are tight and we are trending with a ton of big time kids (especially on D) so we may need all the schollies we can use on everything except QB for this cycle. I know, seems nearly impossible with only 2 scholly QBs but... what do ya do? Gotta take best available when you have needs all over the field. You hope JG and Shrout can get us through next year.

Lost me at dropping Brown because of a 2020 kid. Not happening. Staff absolutely wants and needs 2 TEs this class

They have Lowe above him. So you bring in Lowe behind DWA and Wolf. Brown would be 4th or 5th string TE. We need immediate starters / 2 deep everywhere else almost.

I’ll put it this way... if it comes down to us being full and Nolan Smith, Bogle etc want in... you’re telling me you look at them and 🤷🏻‍♂️ and say “Sorry... we gotta take Sean Brown so we have a good 5th string TE next year who will probably redshirt or end up on defense as a 3rd stringer!!”

Nooo you don’t do that.

You always put immediate needs before wants or long term needs in recruiting and we have a lot of immediate needs. Two 2019 TEs isn’t one of those. Sooo... again, let’s see.

Ok, we will see. They have Lowe above him and while they WANT 2 TEs, we NEED a ton of other things... immediate starters are needed everywhere. We wouldn’t need Brown to contribute next year at all. And Arik would be a day 1 starter after DWA leaves.... sooo... again, let’s see.
Yeah I see Brown staying in this class only if he's willing to take a shot playing defense. Even then, getting guys like Norton will erase that need and will probably result in him being a casualty of numbers.

See what I’m saying? Zero addition to the thread, pointless and desperate.

But my feelings were never hurt. It was the pure annoyance of, well, stuff like this. I think anything non-related to the thread should be an automatic 2 week ban from posting. No pointless playground smack talk and no carrying on random conversation that has nothing to do with the recruit or at least recruiting in general.

I won’t respond moving forward. I plan on being efficient this time around, regardless of heckling.

Butch has a dumpy diaper on and needs changing again. Welcome back.
