Sexual issues in the bible belt are hard stuff.

"IT MAKES SEX BETTER!"

Now I want you to take that same introspection and tell me why two adults consenting to pay for sex is morally reprehensible to you, and why you feel it's ok to dictate others morals. If you want to teach your son to act a certain way, then be that example and teach him. There is no reason to act all high and mighty just because others dont share your morals.

And there is also no reason to attack me when I don’t share your views. Why do I have to explain? Why don’t you explain yours? Where was I dictating others’ morals?

I thought my post was anything but high and mighty... certainly not where I was coming from.

The man sinned and has asked for forgiveness. Many on here think that their sins are not as bad as his sins. Like the Lord said, let him who is without sin cast the first stone. The Lords prayer say's forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others. If you don't forgive others you will not be forgiven. I think he would be a great hire. Believe me , i preach to myself.

I want to be clear ... I'm not being judgmental. That was absolutely not my intentions. I hope I didn't come off that way.

I was simply relaying that, in my experience as a pastor, I've had to deal with folks in (not exactly the same but) similar circumstances.
I thought my position and experience might be a different view that would interest others.

Sorry if I offended anyone.

Carry on ladies and gents.

I did not think it was judgemental at all... in fact it made me re-think my thoughts and realize that I was being judgemental... which I don’t have the right... so thank you for posting the video. I tried to say as much in my first post on this thread but someone felt the need to attack.

You were a little, shall we say, abrasive, yesterday. I for one was glad to see your post in this thread, and that you'd considered things further.

I know you weren't referring to me by the way, and I wasn't referring to anyone in particular either.
I just wanted to make sure my intentions were clearly known.
It's all good.

Thanks. I hope it all works out for the best. Nothing I love more than a comeback - and I certainly want Tennessee Football to make one and hope for Coach Freeze to do the same.

In post #26, Tim, I thought your note under Kamara's picture said "Preferred Walk-On Pastor."
I did a double take, and saw "poster."

Thought you'd get a giggle with me if I shared that with you.
I thought if UT had preferred walk on pastor's, I'd apply for the job.

@JMSqb11 here's your proof buddy

Oh great, you waited for a new thread to get created because you couldn't provide proof yesterday. At the end of the day, the only opinion on Freeze that matters is his wife. If she has forgiven and stuck by him, anyone else's opinion matters exactly zilch.

Also, it is abundantly clear that you are someone who considers yourself to be a perfect being without any mistakes. Crazy people think like that.

I dont think its up to a single person to determine whether or not he has repented, asked forgiveness, or anything else of the sort.
The only opinion or forgiveness or repentance that matters is between him and his family. Anyone outside that circle is totally irrelevant.

Lol once again where did I say I'm perfect and have made zero mistakes? You're making stuff up. Good on you.

so allegedly paying players and calling an escort on a school provided phone is kosher, but there were riots about schiano? and fulmer killed the leach hire within hours because of his antics...i don't think the fanbase's choice of when and when not to to apply morality is going to look good in the media.

Given his (football) record, he could get the kind of recruits we need on offense and turn it around in 2-3 years. If he does and keeps his nose (or other body parts) clean, we would not be able to keep him here. He would have too many lucrative offers for the HC position. We would, however, get what we desperately need. If he doesn't keep clean, he will be seen as a lost cause and even assistant positions would be few and far between. I feel that he will make every effort to stay clean, at least for that 2-3 years. He now knows what it's like to be sitting around the house all day, wasting all that talent. Let's give it a shot.

What on earth has he said that warranted this comment? Did you misunderstand his original post? He was not being judgmental. He was commenting as a former pastor on someone who asks forgiveness and wants to be forgiven (In this situation Freeze) and said he believes the man was sincere in his repentance to God, who is the only one who can judge him. Maybe did you misunderstand? I’m being sincere.

The inability for some to see the difference in this and what Schiano was accused of is baffling

I read the entire thing. He points out that he is qualified because he was or used to be a preacher and that he’s dealt with this sort of thing with people who have sinned and are trying to convince him they have repented. I read his OP perfectly fine

He wanted to get his rocks off and screwed up using a university issued phone... that part isn’t a big deal to me... but he was married.

It also annoys me to see someone like him who claims to be such a devout Christian, use it on recruiting the trail, and praise Jesus every time a microphone is put in front of his face only to get caught doing what he did. As a non I feel like this type of hypocrisy gives all Christians a bad name. Not that I expect every person who identifies as a Christian to walk on water but I definitely donexpect one who uses it as a defining trait of their public persona to not get caught arranging escort services while married.

At any rate it wasn’t a criminal offense. He wasn’t beating his wife or covering up sexual assault (at least that we know of). In that regard I don’t care to give him a second chance.

So why would then would you “hope he never has to apply to the fellowship of his church?”

Seriously trying to understand....
