Tennessee is going NOWHERE with JG

Our roster? Yes, but that’s not saying a lot. He’s not one of the better QBs in the league but any means.

Better than Tagovailoa? No
Better than Storey? Maybe
Better than Stidham? No
Better than Franks? Maybe but it’s close.
Better than Fromm? No
Better than Wilson? Yes
Better than Burrow? No
Better than Ta'amu? Maybe
Better than Fitzgerald? No
Better than Lock? No
Better than Bentley? No
Better than Mond? No
Better than Shurmer? No

In fact, he’s no even close to a lot of those guys.
And here is the problem with Guarantanites. They aggressively oversell their position to the point it's impossible to take them(and their acclaimed football knowledge) serious.
Couple that with the adoption of "verbatim talking points" and an aggressive narrative across the usual suspects of posters, and then throw in the ridiculous bashing of ALL VOLS, past and present, not named JG, and you get this schism.

It's more of a dislike of the agenda than the quarterback. Couple in the fact that you can't utter one negative word about their chosen one without them swooping in like the Spanish Inquisition, and there you are.

A schism. But, despite all the propaganda, and stats, we have to remind ourselves that we are talking about a qb who over a full season gave us an average of 158 yards a game, and one lonely touchdown.

That's woefully anemic production, completion percentages be damned.

He also threw the 13th least amount of any SEC quarterback. Yardage per game and touchdowns is a great stat to point to out of context, but when your offensive coordinator calls 60% run plays, that's what happens.

Better or even with all except Tua, Lock when he is on, Fromm maybe, and Ta'amu.
Holy crap! This is delusion even by Vol standards.

Exhibit A. The nuttiness here should cause all other Guarantanites to jump ship. This is your leader speaking. Does he speak for you?

BOOM !!!!!!!!!! We finally figured it out. We have several weak spots on our team and JG was never the direct cause of us losing any games due to interceptions etc. BUT he can't take control of a game and make a game winning drive or game winning play.

He is serviceable and that is it. I worry though because next season he will be a RS Junior. God help us if he is actually the starting QB for the next two seasons.

I know that JG was rated fairly high in high school. bUTch took advantage of his past relationship with JG's father. bUTch was an assistant at Rutgers when JG's father was a player there. Not hard for bUTch to sway JG to come to U.T.

I'm finally on board with all the JG critics. Even though he has had one or two competent games his overall play is abysmal. He's slow, slower and slowest in almost everything he does. Tennessee must find another QB for next year. In my 50 years of watching Tennessee football I can honestly say I've rarely seen a QB as mediocre as JG. Hopefully the new kid out of Florida will honor his commitment and enroll early. Lord knows we need a mobile QB with quick feet and instincts.

Worst starting UT QB ever and has made me serioudly question Pruitts decision making.

I totally agree 100%, and I have been saying this all year.

But, but, but........he was tough!

Yeah in this case it was a big mistake for connections to be used in recruiting players.

How could anyone know how good or bad any of our quarterbacks are with the o line play we have?
Because on at least two occasions when Chryst came in after JG was completely being overwhelmed by the rush , Chryst was able to produce scoring drives immediately. I defended JG up to the Alabama game. After the Alabama game I knew he was not SEC caliber.

With an OL that stands and watches the defense run by them and doesnt even try to block you must want the Wizard of Oz for a qb. Someone that can work miracles and win the game by himself with no help.

See Missouri for an update to what you think about our offensive situation.

When our line improves next year ( yes with the freshmen as our line is currently that bad) I suspect JG is going to impress some people. Time will tell.
