hyams apparently reported that he doesn't expect a hire from with in, but that pruitt will hire someone he knows and trusts. think it was something they were talking about on WNML this afternoon. don't see any link to it.

The only media guy in Knoxville that had a corncob up his butt about Vol fans reaction to Schiano. The rest were as horrified as we were.

He's a good source. He used to write for BR but unlike most articles on BR his stuff on the Vols was worth reading (don't know if he still writes for them or not). He's a fan but not a homer and he's been fairly well plugged in the past.

Chip wouldn't run air raid. He ran Rush Probst offense at Hoover then as a HC he ran air raid spending time without holgerson each offseason. He ran it because he felt it was best fit for HS. Then when he got into college as an analyst under Gus he learned run game is key to success in college. At southern miss he had a 4,000yd passer, two 1000 yd rushers and one 1000 yd WR in same season. Only been done one other time. At AZ st he lost 3 QBs to injury and still had ballage put up stout numbers as a runner.

He is probably the best fit in terms of offense and fitting into the coaching staff trust wise there is for Pruitt.

Maybe to combine with his co OC that had the run game part just maybe not that hard to understand. Helton is good with QBs as well.

Trying to get a ruling on that Malzahn restructuring to see if it removes Lindsey’s buyout if he voluntarily moves.

There are some good reads on his background online. He has a ton of recruiting connections. Multiple on offense. I think the biggest plus is he is a guy Pruitt can trust in that side of the ball and one that can probably utilize the other really good minds in that room as he isn't married to one system and has married multiple ones together over time. This yr is only time he has had questionable offense but he also lost 2 big time Runners, can't run the full scheme he wants and has a cancer at QB that the locker room hates.

If Lindsey doesn't want to stay there, Auburn would be foolish to try to make him stay. All they could do is restructure Mahlzahn and give Chip or whoever else more direct control over the O. Don't really see that happening with Chip, but who knows. He gets that control with CJP and knows what to expect.
