"Ruined his career" is a bit dramatic. He's still making close to or exceeding a million dollars as a DC, which is the same position he had prior to our AD offering him a job.Sure.
If he's Guilty I am glad we ruined it
Dobbs set records. Those times were pretty great. It's not like Dobbs was a 3 time all-american passer or anything. Sometimes you have to realize the good old days weren't really all THAT great. Hurts does alot with his legs. I never said he was a geat passer, but I think he was on Dobb's level as a runner - not that I watched every Bammer game to find out.
Edit: I'm not down on JG. It's just that the fact he doesn't move much, and then he gets obliterated, with our current OL.
I've argued about this ad nauseum with a friend of mine. The main reason why he's not our HC is that he was going to be yet another in a long line of mediocre HC's and, that alone
You’ve not truly argued as nauseum until you begin this argument with Bruin. You’re about to be puking your guts out from it"Ruined his career" is a bit dramatic. He's still making close to or exceeding a million dollars as a DC, which is the same position he had prior to our AD offering him a job.

The main reason why he's not our HC is that he was going to be yet another in a long line of mediocre HC's and, that alone, was nearly an impossible pill to swallow for this fanbase. Add in that there still exists suspicion about whether he witnessed, and failed to report, Sandusky violating a child...f*** him and his reputation. The suspicion alone should have been enough for ANY AD worth his salt to cross him off their list, but no...we wanted to promote him.
/Rant
Pruitt isn't looking for someone to open up his offense. He wants someone to run what he wants to run how he wants to run it. If he wanted to be challenged or deal with a different offensive philosophy, we wouldn't be replacing Helton.

Yes, and Hurts has done pretty well for himself as well. He has led championship teams.Dobbs set records. Those times were pretty great.
This sounds like Pruitt isn't going to allow an OC to do his job
This is how bad rumors get started. All HCs have a philosophy of what they want and have input. Doesn't mean he won't let an OC call his own plays or have input or bring multiplicity. He just wants someone he can trust that will run an offense with physicality and pro style. There are so many ways to do this in today's game. Pruitt is aggressive as heck on defense and special teams. You don't think that translates to offense either? He showed he will go for it often if it makes sense. It seem certain guys want to paint Pruitt a certain way and I have my doubts they know everything like they think they do. Pruitt doesn't spew everything he thinks to everyone
Why did he hire him in the first place then.
