P Williams , J Hurd zoomed past the University of Tennessee in TD receptions

As was trending earlier in the year - Preston Williams and Jalen Hurd scored more touchdowns receiving than did the University of Tennessee
18 TD's to 15

Receiving yardage was close with Williams and Hurd racking up 2291 yards and UT accounting for 2357.

Just noting that we could have used these two this year. Not sure our qb's and offensive line could have allowed them to get the ball - but they were able to get the ball to them at Baylor and Colorado State.
Damn good for Hurd wasn’t sure that wr thing would work out

His reasoning made sense not wanting to take all those hits as a 6’4” rb and realizing that probably wouldn’t work out in the nfl

I'm prepared. Just sat through two years of garbage QB play. Whats one more year?
Hey I’m sure you are used to wallowing in garbage. It shouldn’t bother you too much.

And if you only sat through two years of bad qb play I guess you weren’t around for some Clausen, Ainge, Crompton, Stephens, Worley seasons.

Not to be picky, but had Hurd stayed he would have graduated last year, so we wouldn't have had him this year. I THINK the same applies to Williams, but I'm not going to look it up.
Williams would have been a senior this year. Of all the transfers, he probably had the most potential but also had the least room to gripe. The staff was pretty good to him, they helped him gain his eligibility after his ACT score was flagged and he had to take it over... and he was given a chance to play and thrown the ball when frankly, we had better and more experienced WR's on the team including Josh Malone. Williams showed questionable hands while he was here and had a very costly fumble in the Arkansas game.

Not to say that having Hurd and Phillips wouldn't have helped our team this season, but I am glad that they weren't on our roster. That may seem counterintuitive, but hear me out...

If those guys are still on the team, they undoubtedly increase the talent level and performance of the offense. But the O-line is still small and underdeveloped, the defensive struggles are still present. I can suspend disbelief and say that those two playmakers give us 2 more W's. That leaves is at a mediocre 7-5 with a low tier bowl game. Is that bad enough to fire CBJ?? Probably not IMO. That leaves us with a coach that doesn't recruit quality players, doesn't develop talent, and we stay in the bottom half of the East for longer. I am glad that we had the abysmal season last year because it forced the coaching change and I think ushered in a new era for Vols football under CJP. Food for thought.

I get that it's interesting, I'm just not sure why you seem happy about it

Lol. They werent great but they were all better than JG. They all won more games and more importantly, more SEC games. Heh, Worley even had better completion % numbers a couple of years..that must tear you up inside. Crompton achieved more in his last year than JG ever will in his entire college career. Hell, they all could at least scramble out of the pocket, something JG is incapable of doing or just doesn't understand what that means. Hard to tell whats going on with his blank stare.

You mean behind the defense like to come back and catch the under thrown pass?
I was thinking they get behind the defense ALL of the time but have to come back or stop to get the ball.. however, it is good for a pass int call so there is that..

Damn you really did just start watching huh?

Worley, Ainge, and the Clausens could scramble better than JG? 😭😂😑

Yes Cromptons LAST YEAR. JG has two more years. Crompdaddy had three years worse than either of JGs.

Ainge had a worse year than this. Way worse. He did recover.

Rick was worse every year than JG this year.

Casey has 11 tds and 7 ints as a Jr.

Nick Stephens was worse here by far.

JG isn’t even in the bottom five worst passing seasons of the last 10-15 years. Plenty of worse performances by qbs.

JG isn’t playing with a team full of future NFL players like the others either.

I've been watching longer than you have holmes. You just have an agenda when it comes to JG and thats fine. Every QB could scramble better than JG, even Peyton. See...JG doesnt scramble..JG doesn't move..at all, unless the OC tells him to and even then he still cant figure out what to do. He has zero field vision or ability to make plays. He couldnt even step up for 4 yards and a first down during the Vandy game with the middle of the field wide open in front of him. He is a robot QB programmed in qbasic.

And you are just basic as evidenced by this drivel.

You have said some whoppers but this takes the cake for most asinine statement from you not made in the pf.

Sorry you can’t recognize that he stands in the pocket to make a play downfield. I do realize you have a hard time with understanding things you see.

Did he not step up in the UK game and make plays? He has several scramble this year. Picked up a few first. But his strength is his arm. When Dobbs was here you claimed scrambling ability didn’t matter for a qb. Only passing. Now we have a strong passer and scrambling is the end all be all. Gtfoh
