Maybe if Pruitt could convince the administration to bring Freeze in as a QC coach for a year. Then if everything goes well transition him to OC. Give friend or Osovet the OC job and let freeze be heavily involved in game planning.

There are conditions they could do with him and let him prove and earn back trust once again. I do believe in giving people a second change that show humility in their mistakes that they have made.

Freeze is a huge name that fans would go crazy over but I would have several huge red flags that would concern me tbh

He’s not a long term guy here at OC, is Pruitt willing to sacrifice the identity he wants for a 1-2 year rental? Not sure.

I've stated my concerns as well. I'm not concerned so much about the longevity of it so much. We could use a quick fix. And, I think he could tutor the next OC, Osovet. My concern is what affect it would have on the recruiting trail. There's no way to know. Like I said earlier, opposing coaches would hire freeze in a minute if they could would also trash another program for doing it.

I agree. Forcing someone on him he doesn't want is a recipe for disaster. Gotta let him succeed or fail his way. My only concern is that this is new territory for him. Will he make the best decision for his ultimate succes? Time will tell.

I think it’s somehting that needs to be done tho. Think about this from our staff last year:

HC- 1st time
OC- only fully for 2 years at a cupcake
DC-one full year at a cupcake.

We could use some more experience in our high responsibility positions. Hiring freeze or any coach with HC and/or extensive coordinator experience would help a lot.

Hey Saban tried to hiring last year so its about time UT grow some put some stipulations on Freeze for his first year to make him prove himself and lets get on with this.

I’ll take a “2 year rental” on Freeze. It’s a critical two years and if he moves on the an HC job, it most likely means the O performed well. Could help set the foundation for the Pruitt era. Downside to me is possible in fighting if 1) Pruitt tries to control O too much, 2) Freeze undermines Pruitt to try to obtaiN HC job. See great possibility of 1 than 2.

Might not want the pressure and spotlight thrust on him, I get that.

Wow...he must know it is too big for him if that was to be really true.

These are what i for sure know:

-Freeze really wants the job.
-Pruitt has interest in hiring him.
-A couple “power players” are hesitant about his past and what SEC/NCAA/Media could say about it.
-early signing day is coming up and freeze isn’t busy and can be on the road recruiting ASAP, no buy out etc.

I feel comfortable enough in saying i believe Freeze will be on campus at some point this week and meet with who he needs to do to try and “prove he’s ready for a shot” per say.

Man if we was to hire Freeze that proves to me that we’ll do whatever it takes to win. Any doubts about this new regime should be put to rest.
