"I think the Hugh Freeze stuff has some legs"

Dan Enos and Joe Moorhead did that, off the top of my head. I am sure that others have done that. It is more money in a Power 5 Conference and a foot in the door.
You getting hung up on titles...instead of opportunity.
Moorehead was an FCS coach. Enos was 26-36, was he not going to be fired? He was given the ‘ol 1 year extension to 2016 (in 2013) prior to “resigning” in 2015.

This is firmly in the believe it when I see it category.

This would be the most "unteneesee" thing we've done since hiring kiffin.
Yep. Looking back on it, how were the Haslams ever OK with Hamilton (their man) hiring someone like Kiffin? Kiffin didn't quite have the rep then as he does now, but Kiffin isn't exactly someone that easy to control.

FWIW, my caution is in regards to the possibility of increased scrutiny by the NCAA or SEC. I’m all for second chances. I’ve asked for (and given) a few myself.

Freeze would be a great hire, but not for the way Pruitt seems to want to run the offense. The spread did wonders for Oregon except for a NC. Besides, the recruits we are recruiting don't seem to be spread type players, especially the OL, where they need to be more mobile.

Only potential way it would/could work with the players Pruitt wants to recruit is if they run a more downhill, power spread like Auburn has run in the past.

Freeze and Pruitt would be like oil and water, IMO.

I'm sure you're a perfect person and have never made a bad decision in your entire life.
Do you want to forgive him and give him another chance because you love him as a human being and believe he has turned his life around, or because he might help Tennessee win?

Lulz. I don't really care, I just think its another form of hypocrisy.

Kiffin is a lower tier coach. You can't make a statement and then move the goal posts. Most coaches are given 1 or 2 year extensions at a time. Enos was not going to be fired...

c'mon. We're going to have to hire someone and whoever it winds up being sooner or later we will probably find out about some wicked shiz he did once upon a time. With this hire, we'd just have it all out there on the front end.

Yea but doesn’t Fulmer and Pruitt have more of a say in hiring assistants not the administrator people like the haslams and what not
who did fulmer hire when he was head coach? he promoted from with in more times than not....in fact every time except the dave clawson deal. i think that will be at least metioned when he and pruitt coverse about next steps.
