Price said this am it wouldn’t affect anyone. Mauer said he committed to the school not Helton.

Completely agree. Your worst position unit on the team and group that looked lost at times. It wasn’t physical as much as mental.

How well or not well we execution on this search will be a tell for the future of the program. Quick and swift action with defined targets will be telling.

If it’s quiet this week would imagine our top target is from a team in a championship game.

If it's quiet this week I'll imagine it an inside promotion. I don't think we are going to target anyone from ANY of the teams in the playoffs. But that's just my opinion which counts for 0.00000000.

If the same admin was in place and Butch was here, I would say we'd just promote within. This is all new and Fulmer wants to win. They will get the best guy available that works for UT and our current and hopefully future system.

Depending on what kind of athletes Pruitt thinks we can get in the next two cycles will be a big factor in who they look for.

A guy like Hurts is needed desperately at this point. JG does not need to see the field again if anyone can help it next year, or we will see more of the same. The kid gives his all and is tough, but just doesn't have it. For the short term, we just need a guy who can hit the 10-15yd pass accurately, throw in a long ball every once in a while, but mainly someone who is mobile and can pick up the pressure.

Folks need to quit kidding themselves after seeing how this season unfolded--- with how our O line most likely will still be, we need a QB who can move in the pocket and buy a few more seconds for WR's to get off their routes... tuck it and run every other series so they have to respect it... this doesn't have to be the long-term plan, but it must be the short term if we are to be successful next year.

If we are going after Freeze we can't wait around. We have to act. Auburn will be blowing up his phone in 3....2....1.....


On a side note I feel like the Helton move has been being worked behind the scenes for a little while now. Hopefully they have been working on the Helton replacement in the background for a while as well.

Osovet is known for his offensive system. Which is all about symplifying things and letting athletes fly around and make plays. Which is very similar to Pruitts philosophy on defense.

I like Osovet. I couldn't stop reading about him when we hired him. He talked about having his offensive players playing with a defensive plyers mentality. He uses controlled tempo. I think it would be really interesting if he got the job.

Why would Friend not be able to coach offensive line and be the coordinator?

It’s pretty common for coordinators to have a position spot.

Trey Wallace just reported "Hugh Freeze VERY interested in the TN OC job".

Makes me made because he got a text message when he was on the air and immediately said "I've got some breaking news". Then turned around and said wait I can't release it yet. When his co-hosts busted his chops a little he said " I got a text I thought I could go public with but I can't yet." That is when he said that Freeze is very interested and that's all he could say.
