I don’t get why everyone is so high on Hurts. He’s barely average as a passer and makes most of his plays running. He would need a great OL and RBs to be good and he’s not going to get that here. Need a QB who makes great reads and quick decisions that can take the pressure off of this OL and open up the running game. Hurts ain’t it chief.

D coordinators hate that style of offense because it puts your defense on the field too long. They score quickly or give the ball back quickly.

What's the average possesion time for Alabama's offense this year? I know they have studs everywhere but Saban has adapted over the past five years to faster offense and mobile QB's to defend.
I was comparing them to themselves of years past.

This year they are giving up about a FG more a game pts wise.

Last year they only have up 20 pts twice in SEC Play and this year that's happened 4 times.

Their two shutouts this year have come when their offense has been human and not video game like.

I would think giving up 3 more points per game to score 20+ points more per game is a good tradeoff. That's just me though.

I wouldn’t cite the Rams defense as the perfect example but they have the wins

I just meant in the sense that wade Phillips has been a great dcoordinator that has had defense at the top of the league....

They have paired that with the most innovative spread offense in the nfl and it’s more than working.

Have you seen our line? He’s (a running back in a QB position) precisely what we need next year while we develop some linemen. I wouldn’t mind a 2-QB system with JG and him... of course JG may transfer (no source just a hunch).

Hurts is also 10 times better than any quarterback we have on the roster chief.

I agree I'd trade it to but in the mind of a D.C. I doubt Pruitt will go that route

I think it's as much about possessions as time. We had 8 or possessions in the first half vs Bama. That's crazy high

Meant to quote this on last post

Bama has proven they can speed it up when they want to and slow it down when they want to. They have superior athletes all over the field. Not sure Bama would be a good comparison. I'm not saying it is not trending that way but D coordinators love for their guys to get some rest, obviously selfishly so.
