It's entirely too easy to make a statement like, "JG holds onto the ball too long" without knowing everything. And yes, there have been folks saying that, but once an opinion becomes popular, it gets repeated whether it's right or not. I don't go off of what others say, I think for myself. If JG had a competent offensive line, he wouldn't be sacked near as much either. And when Chryst saw playing time, he was playing in garbage time, save the Missouri game, when he wasn't sacked as much, but instead of standing in there to make throws, he was either throwing incomplete passes or interceptions. JG hung in there and delivered strikes just before getting blasted all year long. Think about the Auburn game. If he doesn't stand in there and get trucked, and instead gets rid of it fast, then Tennessee doesn't win that game. The offensive line has been unbelievably bad.
But that's ok. You enjoy the warmth of that blanket of like minded feelings.
I don't know that other people think that or not but I damn sure know what I see. And that's a qb that absolutely holds the ball too long. He reminds me of matt Simms. Remember when he used to get hit all the time and fumble? Jg has terrible pocket awareness. A qb has to be able to feel the pressure and move around in the pocket some to buy time while keeping his eyes down the field. It's not easy to do but it's absolutely necessary to be a great qb.
