So basically what you’re saying is:

After assembling a roster best in the east for two years, every player butch recruited is either not good enough or a loser. And the current staff is not to blame at all
That is exactly what I'm saying. This roster sucks because it doesn't care about playing football..they have no pride, or gumption..or at least too few guys that have the will and talent to make a difference.

Bringing back sapp was a mistake. Never should have taken him back and no doubt in my mind he was part of the issue with certain players

Not sure I would make that accusation. As I have said previously, I know someone who is about three degrees separated from Sapp. I think he just wanted to play, which sounds like is different than some of the others.

We discuss this already?

I think it's hilarious she puts out a rumor of someone else and then calls for civility with the "they are good people dont blame them".

How about thinking about not putting someone elses business out on social media? How about considering these are good people and you are essentially making their current life uncomfortable?

This is a media person you're talking about

Yes but wanting to play and taking to twitter are two separate things. Imo with him going to twitter i guess he was causing some issues in that locker room. At least putting off bad vibes

If Helton is going back to USC I would imagine they’ll want him there as soon as possible to start recruiting. But instead he’s out on the road for us.

Did anyone else see Pruitt yesterday? I don't think he ever showed emotion. He has been screaming at guys and coaches all year but yesterday...nothing. Tells you all you need to know. He was checked out on this season.
I think he knew the last two weeks from the effort in practice that this team had a lot of guys who didn't give a damn..so his demeanor was more a stoic acceptance of his current situation. This team wasn't going to win the last two weeks, simply because they did not want to play...no pride..no heart..no chance.

Why did what happen? Helton to UT? Because that's who Pruitt wanted for OC and Fulmer gave Pruitt the autonomy to bring in the coordinators he wanted. Helton made aggressive demands and UT met them as a show of confidence in Pruitt. IIRC, Helton was the second highest paid OC in the country when hired and UT gave him a three-year contract-- high cotton for an unproven OC.

Yea i mean it’s great that we ponied up. It just doesn’t always work out. LSU did the same thing for Matt Canada and it didn’t work.

Well Butch didn't leave any of those so not sure why you think because he had the best roster in east means he left a good one now., pretty obvious he didn't by going 4-8 last yr and 5-7 this yr. Shoop and Pruitt 2 of the best DCs in country couldn't get these losers to play at high level consistently. Butch left a mentally crushed team that hadn't been disciplined or had real strength program in 2 yrs. Dave Lawson firing set this prIngram down a dark path
@HankHill This guys answer says how I feel about your repeated references to our roster.

Kitchens seems like a very random name. No clue why he'd want to go back to college when the majority of his work has been in the NFL.

Can't just blame the players for these losses. Coaches are definitely part of the blame. That Vandy ass whooping was definitely Dooley-esque and our team has shown the ability to play much better.

It sucks about Helton because now we will have our 4th OC in 4 years. How can an offense be successful like that?
I can and do blame the players.

Saban seems to be able to do it with a new OC and/or DC every other year.

A million dollar a year Salary. He likely goes back to being a position coach in NFL if he doesn’t get a full time OC gig. Him and Pruitt played together at Bama. It’s an opprotunity to advance career potentially.

I don’t think we have a good roster by any means. Don’t get it twisted. I think you can have a mediocre roster and make a bowl game. Even if we don’t make a bowl game fine, but we weren’t even competitive half the time we were on the field. We had 6 losses by 25+ That’s where i put some blame on coaches too. We may be bad but we’re not that bad. Getting them ready and keeping them from packing it in and playing hard is on the coaches. That’s one thing they completely failed at imo. If we lost two close games to Vanderbilt and Missouri then my outlook would be totally different.

Our players aren’t very good. They’re slow, they’re small, they’re weak, and to top it off, a lot of them are quitters. That’s a fact.

Pruitt did not have a perfect year 1. He’s made some mistakes. But if you want to judge him off of this year with this cast of characters, you’re making a mistake.

Pruitt will be a great head coach here imo. But he has to recruit well and it looks like he will, and he has to nail the OC hire. The quitters will be weeded out. I’m perfectly fine with starting Tank at safety next year, J.J. Pet. And Pappoe at LB, Wanya on the OL, and any of the other young guys coming in.
