You think CJP is the next Saban?
No.

He doesnt have to be for that point either.

It's his show. If he made a bad decision with Helton, is he making a good one by keeping him around if hes not working out? Should we expect him to try and fix that? It doesnt matter if we agree with him. When the time comes hes gonna have show he made the right moves either way.

Oh I’m right there with you. I mean if he’d rather stay home and sacrifice time working with his team. I don’t see him as a man to consider that trifling. I could see him give two ____ about winning a bowl... but those practices man.
There's only so many hours in the day, would you rather spend it trying to coach up a bunch of what you've already branded as misfits or spend it going out trying to replace the said misfits?

I get it. I just see people pull the Saban card so often. 'Saban went 6-6.' ' Saban lost to la Monroe.' I see these things and people seldom acknowledge what Saban had already done before his first year at Bama, which was the reason he was hired and the reason the Bama fans were ready and willing to show appreciation and patience. It makes me wonder what sort of correlation people are trying to make. Probably a lot more guys who have a bad first season never really have a good one and wind up getting fired and leaving their program in turmoil than those who wind up winning a championship.
Fair enough, good points. But no matter who the coach was at Tennessee in 2018 we weren’t winning more than five or six games with this roster. Even if Nick Saban was the head coach. Maybe he gets this team to 7 wins. So I don’t think it was a “bad season” but rather year one of a massive rebuild.

Invest time trying to fix what's wrong vs. invest time finding guys who want to do it right. Pruitt has moved from repair to replace mode. Hard to blame him.

I guess losing to Chris Peterson and Washington (the vastly better program) is just the worst lol.
When you’re 1-6 and an offensive guru and your team’s never scored more than 15 points? Pretty effin close to that mark...

It was not the majority pick but plenty people did including most on this board. Not sure why you are trying to argue that.
I'm not arguing.
You're painting this picture that expectations were such that this staff didn't meet them.

That's just not the case. But that Doesn't mean you're shouldn't be upset with how this season ended.

And we're homers. This board ranged anywhere from xv-nulla and 3-9.

Big middle was 5 to 7 wins.

I don't think that he made good points at all.
People use Saban because everyone is already familiar. There are others but then you have to bring all the additional info etc.

Hillbilly suggesting that you can't use Saban because he's "too successful" when he's the perfect, already familiar example, is usually an attempt to take away from the point made.

And your point was solid.
