Didn't Saban fire his OC after year one at Bama? Sometimes it doesn't work out like you thought and it's better to part ways sooner than later. FTR I am a Helton fan but clearly somethings not working. Pruitt has to make a change now if he's not 100% sold on Helton.
You think CJP is the next Saban?

I have no idea why our offense didn't have more 3 step drop, simple throws for JGs. Slants, hitches, outs, etc. Use rub routes, screens, etc to get the ball out quick and neuter our poor offensive line and JG holding onto the ball. It's so simple and the SC gameplan was the closest to this. Auburn really was a fluke game because our entire offense centered around fluke 50-50 balls which we came away with an inordinate amount of them.

I agree, I'm not blaming the coaches for our lack of talent. I think Helton is a fine coach. He called some very good games this year. But if the rumors are true about him not being happy here/Pruitt not happy with him/or whatever, you have to cut bait.

We should not rely on rumors....not being vicious....the only way I see Helton leaving is if he chooses to do so himself.....More damage to the program....firing him does us no good at this point just another OC with a different Offense. What happens to his recruits do they follow him.....

At this point we need damage control both for the team and the staff...not lighting a fire with gasoline...The staff need a year and they got to determine who stays and who goes. If Helton goes it sends a msg, it Pruitt fires him (which he said he wasn't) it sends a msg, if whatever happens it happens.....cant see a whatever moment without a firing or a walking off.

Was more than fine with kicking the tires on Houston last year. He’d have been behind the curve on SEC recruiting and relationships, but he bleeds winning. UNC seems perfect for him in his first P5 job. Satterfield will get his shot sooner rather than later but I’m not as big on him making the translation.
True that. I like Mike Houston. He should succeed wherever he goes.

JG has to get better at working progressions and needs a dump down. I think we max protected to much. Giving him a safety valve with a RB might be better then having said RB stay in and block. Could swing it out or run screens if they are getting to much pressure. We shoulda thrown 20 slants a game with preassure teams were showing. Our OC failed to take preassure off our qb, our qb failed to take preassure off himself with quick reads, and lien OL was never developed so we are at year one with all of them.

Scott Satterfield or Mike Houston is the right hire for UNC. Both can recruit NC. Another major option is Clemson co-offensive coordinator.
Satterfield seems like a home run, although I thought Fedora was a really good hire too.

I think that UNC football program is a sleeping giant. It should be much more successful than it has been.

head coaches need to be ride or die with their assistants. there is either two-way loyalty or none at all. if CJP wants to fire someone, fine. they'll know why it happened. fan pressure forcing a turnover at coordinator has never worked for us and is usually the death knell of a head coach's tenure.

I think Pruitt would do well in visiting with other successful head coaches during the off-season, whether it be college or in the NFL. Even the great Pat Summit would do that. A great coach is always learning.

Will be interesting to see how Pruitt flips the roster. I suspect we'll have 12-15 guys request a transfer.

Yep. Just a quick look at the roster we can probably guess the majority of them. I'd say most of this list is gone. I probably missed some too.

Brandon Johnson
Tyler Byrd
Shawn Shamburger
Quart'e Sapp
Will McBride
Jacquez Jones
Shanon Reid
Terrell Bailey
Solon Page
Princeton Fant
Cheyenne Labruzza
Ja'Quan Blakely
Eric Crosby
Devante Brooks
James Brown

It absolutely is. I have lived in NC most my life after moving in Knoxville. If anyone ever keeps the talent home, they can build the program and get massive support.

Maybe you would be the most likely to confirm this regarding Crouch.

Did he state this about the team and culture?

If he did then this is the most telling part of the story about UT Football and where we are...
It didn't start this season but it is a great Definition of Culture......

I don't think Pruitt gives two sh!ts what the fans think of his staff.
