I just don’t see why the USC administration would go for that plan. To me, if you bring Clay back, you make him commit to wholesale changes. Not go back to things he’s comfortable with.

I did wonder about that. Remember though before they lost Helton they were very successful and developed Darnold. They can make Tee the scapegoat. I just think ultimately Clay will have control over offense similar to Butch.

Not OC! He’s really really bad
I agree, Tee has a way over inflated opinion of himself. He may turn into a great coach sometime but he's got a ways to go. I thought it was laughable when many were suggesting he was ready for the head coaching job at UT. He said the only way he would leave USC for UT was if it was for the head coach, not the OC. I was thinking, dude, you're not even the OC at USC.

The only question I want to be asked when it is time to make decisions is "will this make us better?"

If the answer is yes, do it.

If not, don't.

I thought we could win 7 games with a WVU W; 6 with a WVU L. I underestimated WVU. But I still think we had 6 wins on the schedule. I also underestimated this staff's ability to "fix" some of the team's issues. Some players aren't going to reach their potential at UT. A fresh start elsewhere is better for them and the team.

Yep. Just a quick look at the roster we can probably guess the majority of them. I'd say most of this list is gone. I probably missed some too.

Brandon Johnson
Tyler Byrd
Shawn Shamburger
Quart'e Sapp
Will McBride
Jacquez Jones
Shanon Reid
Terrell Bailey
Solon Page
Princeton Fant
Cheyenne Labruzza
Ja'Quan Blakely
Eric Crosby
Devante Brooks
James Brown

Wonder why Tyler Byrd never got the look at corner back from Pruitt? it’s been said Tyler was better at corner,I’d hate to see him leave

Unless Tee can prove he didn't want to come and wasted the interview because he just hated Butch, don't want him back here... better folks out there anyway.

There's only so many hours in the day, would you rather spend it trying to coach up a bunch of what you've already branded as misfits or spend it going out trying to replace the said misfits?

Well he cant sign 85. He can’t even change much on this roster. Right away. This isn’t the NFL. Tell the misfits to stay home, the others have work to do. Cancel the football banquet, not the practices.

If he wins next year it will be primarily with the guys on the current roster not the frosh. Of course this is all hypothetical and moot.

Then why did it happen @LA Vol

Why did what happen? Helton to UT? Because that's who Pruitt wanted for OC and Fulmer gave Pruitt the autonomy to bring in the coordinators he wanted. Helton made aggressive demands and UT met them as a show of confidence in Pruitt. IIRC, Helton was the second highest paid OC in the country when hired and UT gave him a three-year contract-- high cotton for an unproven OC.

I'm not saying you're wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't think positives of not going to a bowl outweighed the negatives.

If we did end up with Freddie Kitchens. It might not be bad. Article below on difference in brown offense since he took over. He is actually using both RBs. Using all weapons. Even went wing T for a series of plays to throw off defense defending his spread out offense. One thing I liked was their embattled OL has went from one of worst to all of a sudden not giving up sacks

No one has enjoyed Hue Jackson’s firing more than Browns QB Baker Mayfield

So what's the current state of VN-RF?

I've been busy with the holiday and haven't signed in since Wednesday. I saw the game. And I saw the false reports of Helton's firing.

Are we still in strong positions with Pappoe, Watson, Gray, and Darnell?

Are our livers okay for the most part?

How many of us are entirely pessimistic about things since the loss?

Roster was good enough to go to a bowl and win six. Problem with the roster is too many guys who did not want to continue to play football. greasy posted that many of the guys on the team wanted to be home around family and friends for Christmas instead of practicing for a "sorry ass bowl". If his nephew feels this way as well as many others then that is why we looked like we did the last two games. You are right in players like that being bad but the physical talent was there. I would take three wins next year with guys playing their guts out for 4 quarters than a POS taking our money and laying down.
I know they have some physical talent..but talent is just a part of the equation..for whatever reasons they are, and there are different ones in different cases..this roster sucks.

What difference does it make if you are faster, or can jump higher, if you don't care about playing?
