Tennessee is going NOWHERE with JG

lets watch you play for with that oline, just another keyboard superhero aren't you? some peoples children shouldn't be left of the leash

He can’t read the defense to change the protection. Debate that. That sack yesterday could have easily been prevented with moving a back to the left side to pick it up. Instead he ran the play and turned his back to the end and held the ball likef a statue. That play had nothing to do with the performance of the OL. Where is your leash?

The problem with anyone arguing against playing JG is that you're saying we have someone better behind him. Which implies that you've seen something that coaches don't see despite only observing the team for 1% of the time that they do.

Which is asinine.

Which is why all of these threads, and the very similar "fahr ___" threads are always started by grade A rednecks, trolls, or post-game drunks.

If there is a Grad transfer out there that is elite get him in here to be the QB giving the freshman and Shrout another season to get up to playing at the college level. JG just to many busted plays, incompetent decisions, and failure to take what the defense gives him. He seems to have no knowledge of reading defenses, changing plays, or using the second or third option. With him it is all locking in on the play called regardless of formations by the defense.
Yes, his initials are JH and he is currently the backup for a certain school.

I'm finally on board with all the JG critics. Even though he has had one or two competent games his overall play is abysmal. He's slow, slower and slowest in almost everything he does. Tennessee must find another QB for next year. In my 50 years of watching Tennessee football I can honestly say I've rarely seen a QB as mediocre as JG. Hopefully the new kid out of Florida will honor his commitment and enroll early. Lord knows we need a mobile QB with quick feet and instincts.
I just posted a thread saying the same thing.

That's because Radio has been there for 5 years. It's called continuity. Something we'll never have here if we continue to call for the firing of everyone every year. Now it has to improve or i'm all for it. There is no magic fix for this deal and the problems are multiple, so pointing a finger here or there isn't going to do it.

And to that one play I can list 12 that somebody whiffed on a block and got him nailed, quit trying to use an exception to paint it as the norm.

Honestly, JG is probably a broken QB at this point.... call it PTSD if you want but he'll probably need to see a sports psych to get over the punishment he experienced this year. He throws while anticipating a hit and has begun unloading the ball to under route receivers as the first options because he is scared to death in the pocket... sadly I don't know if it is fixable.

His accuracy was the worst it's been all season. Perhaps he still has double vision Mizzou game.

Strout will get his shot next season. JG isn't the biggest problem right now but he certainly has room to improve.

An exception? I have been watching him play for 12 games this year and the kid can not read a defense. He eyes one player as a receiver and does not see other open receivers on the field.

Why do you not see him calling audibles? Is he capable?

You have a point on the aubibles.

But it is hard to go through your progressions in 1.3 seconds or less.

I have been reluctant to criticize JG or any other 18-22 year old out playing a game for our entertainment, but I think the constant hits he takes are taking a toll on him. I think the issues people have already mentioned have some validity but no one ever questioned his toughness or his willingness to stand in there to the last split second and take a hit. There have been a lot of vicious hits that he didn’t see coming and I think that one at the beginning of the Missouri game did some psychological damage. Since then, he is very skittish in the pocket and bails the second he sees someone break through. There were multiple balls thrown with him falling backwards or throwing off his back foot to get rid of it. All the long balls are rainbows. I am concerned that it has altered his best trait. Probably good the season is over so maybe he can forget about this one.

Sad but true. You could see it in his eyes, and body language. Not sure that I can blame him, but he was scared yesterday.
