Pruitt had his coordinators in mind when he met with Fulmer. They'd already talked and Pruitt knew who he wanted to bring. It was a leap of faith meeting Helton's demands, which were aggressive for an unproven OC, and getting the three-year contracts for assistants. Very unfortunate that Pruitt's most important hire wasn't the right fit.

If you had to guess do you think Friend will be promoted?

I was told it was for a QC position.

Freeze was always more of an up-tempo guy. I think Pruitt wants to build a team similar to the early to mid 2010s Bama teams. As a defensive guy I don't think he will want to have an offensive scheme that puts stress on the defense until he has enough depth there.

Even Bama has moved on from that. If that’s your scheme now then you are already starting with one arm behind your back. You aren’t really exploiting the advantages the game is giving to offenses right now.

Silver lining... it shows that fulmer and the brass are ok with throwing money around and stability for assistants. So it gives me faith that Pruitt will get whoever he wants again. Shouldn’t have to settle.

Joe Osovet.
Isn’t he known as being an offensive genius? Idk, but surely it’s easier to be an OC than Helton made it look. He never schemed around our OL, not once. Nothing he did this season made sense. I think SC is the only game that the offense looked pretty good. The AU game we were just living on 50-50 balls

That AU game was 100 percent fool’s gold for Helton. JG too.

I feel like if JG has time he’s accurate with the ball. But as people have pointed out, he has no awareness and doesn’t go through reads. I’m honestly surprised at how unathletic he is. I hope Shrout is the real deal and can give some real competition

Really good at RPO concepts. Has some interesting videos on YouTube. Has never coached big boy ball though. Might be better to start out as a position coach before making the jump to an OC.
