I figure they do something that involves making osovet or Lilly a full time coach. Lilly been pretty involved in offense on sidelines with playsheets in hand.

It would be awesome if we brought in an Enos, Beilema, petrino, klingsbury, freeze, fedora type though

So he handicapped Helton

No. Helton just sucks and isn’t creative. The whole staff at USC is also showing that now. He let Helton do his thing for the most part. No coordinator is ever going to have 100% full reign. No matter who it is. The HC is always going to tweak something and be the final say.

Just don’t understand that. Freeze beat Bama twice even if he did cheat for the players. I do agree that Freeze did not really scheme the running game all that well. But you get the best.

Freeze was always more of an up-tempo guy. I think Pruitt wants to build a team similar to the early to mid 2010s Bama teams. As a defensive guy I don't think he will want to have an offensive scheme that puts stress on the defense until he has enough depth there.

I understand no coordinator has 100% but the way you wrote the OP made it seem like he was handicapping Helton in some way

Friend to OC, Weinke to QB Coach, Niedermeyer to RB Coach, Johnson stays WR Coach, Lilly or Osovet bumped to TE Coach. Boom. I'm hoping the offense returns to the Ice Age of the SEC..... Bring on Mr. Freeze!

It was rumored last year Pruitt wanted to hire freeze and the SEC put the hiatus on it.

Pruitt had his coordinators in mind when he met with Fulmer. They'd already talked and Pruitt knew who he wanted to bring. It was a leap of faith meeting Helton's demands, which were aggressive for an unproven OC, and getting the three-year contracts for assistants. Very unfortunate that Pruitt's most important hire wasn't the right fit.
