He was one of the 16 or 17 candidates but he didn't make the big stage. He was in a debate or two with the B-team. I think maybe Santorum, Graham, Huckabee...….not sure who else was on the undercard. It's been awhile.I didn't know he was a serious contender in 2016. The only things I remember about him are being governor of Louisiana and making that really awkward speech at the GOP convention one year.
17 seems like too low a number, I was sure there were 7000 Republicans running in 2016.He was one of the 16 or 17 candidates but he didn't make the big stage. Let's see, statistically in the 2016 elections:
Oldish white dudes:
GOP: 12 (70%)
DNC: 4 (80%)
Women:
GOP: 1 (6%)
DNC: 1 (20%)
Hispanic:
GOP: 2 (12%)
DNC: 0
Indian-American
GOP: 1 (6%)
DNC: 0
African American:
GOP: 1 (6%)
DNC: 0
In 2016, the GOP ran just as many women for POTUS as the DNC, 200% more Hispanics, 100% more African Americans, 100% more Indian Americans and 10% less white dudes.
EL? Care to explain why your tent wasn't big enough for minority candidates?
Apples and oranges, no? I'm talking about who's winning primaries and then going on to be elected to the House; you're talking about who's sitting at the GOP's kids' table.
Not who you asked, but you act like "diverse" is a bad thing. Do you not want POC, women, LGBTQ, and white folks governing you? Best to have a full spectrum in government instead of a bunch of old white dudes.Ill ask it again , now that the liberals own the house and have some skin in the game again ... what are you going to do with all those new “ diverse “ seats ?

The House will pass a bunch of bills that will die in the Senate from Republican obstructionism. And there will probably be plenty of investigations into the Trump Family Crime Syndicate and his GOP associates.
How can you put all the blame on them when you have a Republican Senate and Trump immediately saying no to anything? McConnell has practice with abject obstruction. And Trump doesn't give a **** about anything but his image. There is no common ground because the right will not allow there to be any.I don’t care who is in there makes no difference to me one way or another , your last part is the meat of it . They will spend all their time using that diversity and doing nothing that will affect anyone but the #Resistance .

When Republicans and Mitch said they would try to make Obama a one-term president before he even took the oath, after overwhelming Democratic wins in 2008, that was about the time I stopped believing Republicans cared about bipartisanship. Hint: they don't. Protect the Lord Red Hat, no matter the costs.Oh come on and crying hypocritical Chucky doesn’t with obstructing ? Lol . I actually thought it would be a while , atleast until the liberals took the house before you guys started blaming the Rs for obstructing . Are you just getting a head start ?

yeah. about that. Get one of houses of Congress and all the sudden its the other sides fault nothing gets done. and all the sudden that one house is all that matters in the government and everyone should fall in line. How can you put all the blame on them when you have a Republican Senate and Trump immediately saying no to anything?
