The only reason anyone is panicked about a bowl game in year 1 is they are afraid if we miss it then the wheels will start coming off the bus again. Take that possibility off the table for everyone and this becomes an entirely different conversation. And it’s long past time to shoot down the stupid in our fanbase.

giving extensions to the wrong guy for the wrong reasons was part of the problem.

that doesn't mean Pruitt is the wrong guy.

but it does mean it's a tad early to give a guy an enxtentsion for maybe going 6-6 in year one.

pruitt isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and i'd expect by the end of year 3 or 4, his contract will take care of itself. maybe sooner depending on how things go.

I have mixed feelings about that situation. I was excited when he was hired, but there was clearly something off when he came.

I will say this about him at MSU. I have a good friend who is a MSU alum, and he says it is their best defense in program history (and I assumed he was referring to personnel). They haven't exactly played many high powered offenses. Bama and actually Louisiana are the only offenses they have played that are top 25 in offensive efficiency, and you know you can out-athlete a Sun Belt school. A&M, UF, and LSU are all in the 30's, so those are solid. In contrast, we have played three in the top 5 in offensive efficiency. It will be interesting to see how he does moving forward, but he was good this year.

Correct. Lots of really good upper class men. A lot of people didnt realize going into the year but the talent they have on their defense is really really really good. It’s statistically their best all time now I believe too.

It’s not like Shoop came in to an average situation, I do believe he had a lot to do with them performing so well tho

True. I was responding to those that refuse to admit he has improved and were complaining because some were excited that he was at the top of some stats in the SEC.

The threads from last November are insane. I went back and read a few of them recently and was laughing out loud at the absurdity of the things many of us were saying.

Remember walking by Gate 21 last year before a game and he was out there on the radio show blabbing on about facilities while never addressing anything coaching related.

Crouch is Clemson bound, albeit not official.
Haselwoods interest in us, real or perceived, has passed and hes' not an option anymore.
Harrison Bailey is allegedly Michigan bound, if you believe the VQ guys.

And I feel like I'm forgetting one or two...

Fortunately I do think we finish the class with the following:

Eric Gray
Darnell Wright
Owen Pappoe
Kenyatta Watson
Khafre Brown
Trezmen Marshall (hard to get a read on this kid, but I think the Sherrer connection gets him here)

Also, Jalil Clemons and Roman Harrison received ratings bumps, which should appease the star watchers.

That's disgusting. He and the other clueless admins wanted to turn us into the most hospitable destination for other fans. "Come see your team stomp all over Tennessee in their own beautiful and newly renovated stadium!"

The fact that the man was vacationing in the Bahamas while all the other teams were grabbing the good coaches made us think we had a good one on the line. And people wonder why we melted down over Schiano.

So glad to have Fulmer.
