I have no idea why the SEC and all the tv networks hate Tennessee so much but it's very obvious that they do with what goes on so consistently.

It’s not like they all hate Tn, but for the ones that do it has everything to do with our football team beating their football team every year(That’s how it used to be or at least how they felt about it.).

Now that we are on a bad run they are taking advantage of that(Make hay while the sun is shinning.).

I’m expecting us to pull it together, beat Vandy, make a bowl, win the bowl and land the recruiting class we need to win the east next year while putting a beat down on several of the teams that are typically beneath us when it comes to the level of play at football.

I think all you need to really look at is what happened when JG was on the ground. Watch closely - the Mizzou defender held his forearm on the back of JG's neck as he got up off the ground -- pushing his full body weight down on the neck. While I'm sure the hit was the brunt of the damage, the "get up" shows the intent.

Mizzou has been confusing physicality with cheap shots all season. They lost Terez Hall, 3rd leading tackler, early in the Bama game. He boldly proclaimed that the disqualification wasn't going to change the way he plays. Turns out the #24 on his jersey is also his actual IQ. Life is stranger than fiction.

I thought it was kind of a "horse collar." Got some feedback that it was a "clothesline." The guy definitely rode up and grabbed JG's helmet to control him, possibly even injure. I don't know what the correct terminology is but it didn't look like the kind of hit that should not be called to me. Same spirit as that personal foul against JJ. JJ knew the score.

You have to wonder with all the money the SEC makes how long before a player or former player takes the SEC to court for an injury that’s a result of blatant missed calls

It’s the appearance of rigged games that bother me. Mizz having the Ky game stolen because Ky is a better story or ole miss being robbed last night so Vandy Vs Tn for a bowl game is more interesting and therefore more valuable.

I realize that’s not what is happening but it sure is interesting who gets the benefit of game altering calls

I'm sure you're right. Pruitt (or Helton) wouldn't put him in if he admitted he was hurt. I've noticed this before with JG. He will take a horrible sack and the subsequent plays are lacking in crispness. He is too tough for his own good.

They act like they never rea the rules and are blind to most things that might be contraversial...It is that way for all teams except Alabama and no one can match their tips from there.

JG has been getting late hit all year. They aren't going to call it and teams know this. I wouldn't call it dirty.

To a degree you are correct about the level at which they let them play. That can vary from each crew. But as fans it would help to know what each ref is responsible for. NCAA Div I uses 8 man crews just like the NFL. It was the responsiblity of the head referee to watch and call any hit on the quarterback. Officials have responsibilty for specific areas of the offense and defense and for specific areas of the field as each play develops. See the link for position responsibilties.

IMO the head referee totally blew the call. And yes you can squash continued aggressive play by communicating with the players and coaches or by throwing the flag.

Ky fan here. I have to agree. We've had calls like this go against us when we cellar dwellers. But now we are an interesting story, and the call goes on our favor. Same with ole miss/vandy last night. It just looks fishy, and is sad when officials decide the outcome. By the way, you all played a really great game against us last week. Sorry we weren't more competitive.

We have a DB jump a screen pass (don’t remember who ) that was likely a pick 6. He was “blocked” to prevent this from happening. In what world is that not PI on the O?
I guess I could look it up.....

Not an offensive PI if it occurs at or behind the line of scrimmage or neutral zone.

You can't touch the qb in the nfl and they call to many in the sec, even though the hit on jg should have been called.
