I like Leach a lot. He's finally got some defense in his program which is why he has had 2 good seasons. I'm not convinced he'd find that level of success in the SEC though. We've seen that tried and they put up big offensive numbers but not many wins, even with a no.1 draft pick QB.

WSU is the only other game I look forward to on Saturdays because they're fun to watch. Would have enjoyed that if he was here and it would have been exciting but championships are won in the trenches. That's a time tested fact. So fun but probably not any championships.

What do you choose? A guy that will get you 7-9 wins consistently and be fun to watch. Or the unproven guy that understands the championship formula but hasn't proven he can implement? TN is chasing championships.

They're top 10, 8-2, and looking good tonight. Their quarterback looks solid. Any thoughts on having Mike Leach wrapped up and Fulmer torpedoing the deal?

Mike Leach went 7-6 his first two years at Texas Tech, and 3-9 his first year at Washington State. His second year at Wazzou was 6-7. In other words, Mike Leach would have needed just as much time as any other coach to turn the program around.

That said, I was totally fine with hiring Mike Leach and wanted to see what he could do with SEC talent.

you forget he turned around vanderbilt level programs into top 10 teams...thats a bit tougher than turning around a TN program

Leach at Washington State
Year 1: 3-9
Year 2: 5-6
Year 3: 3-9

If Leach had been here, you would’ve been done after year 1. It’s almost like having more than 11 games to develop your roster is a good thing sometimes...
we have never nor would we ever fire a guy after 1 season
