2018 Midterm Election Thread

May I remind y’all.....

After the debacle which has come to be known as Nobody Does Coaching Searches Like UT, luther stayed in a thread in the FF, crying and demanding AtlantaVol give him answers as to WTF happened. He didn’t do this once, he did it for a few weeks, and even clamored that he would not cease his self-imprisonment until he was given answers. Folks, this is who y’all are responding to—a certified clown.

I hear his sister Stacey Abrams taught him everything she knows about how to be an ass clown.

You remember that better than I do. Not sure what that says about you, but thanks for caring, I guess.
I would still love the answers by the way.

So you're saying there is high value in college? I agree 100%.
Nice edit and one I was just too slow to poke fun of.

But to your point, yes I think there is a high value in college.............for certain people and career paths, but I think that value and experience pales in comparison to the value and experience you get from serving.

Luther, BowelBrother and their elder idiot the Hunder must not realize the emphasis the military places on education, even in the late 80's and 90's college courses were offered on post and you were strongly encouraged to start a degree track. My guess is that they are pushing education even more these days.
But tumscalcium disagrees with you in post 5490. You can't both be right.

For the last 20 years there has been a big push to have educated service members and it has been almost mandatory to advance past E5 and especially when you get to the Senior Enlisted area.
True, to get E-7 one must have a bachelors.

That's been a change the last 10 years. I made Chief without a finished BS/BA, but having at least 2 years of college work greatly improved the look of your package before you went to board. Not sure if the Navy has adopted it as a requirement yet or not, we generally lag behind the AF in things like this because we are busy fighting wars. :)

Not all education is the same. Women’s Studies and African American Literature are worthless degrees that don’t “Educate” anyone.

A degree is what you make of it there are plenty of people with business degrees, and Phds in science math don't do as well as Literature or Humanities graduates.

Yeah.......

I’m surrounded by $200,000 art degree recipients from SCAD who can only tend bar downtown.

I attended a conference in Savannah several years back, and let me just say that I saw some doozies migrating to and from that campus. I hope every one of them are unemployed.

Sure, there is always value in education: may not always be monetary, but there is value.
The main value in college right now is that it proves you are trainable. Other than that, it is a rudimentary 'education' in the student's chosen field.

Interesting that you throw out the monetary value of education so matter of fact. I will agree with you up to a point. There is value in a liberal arts education, but much of what is passing for advanced education doesn't put food on the table. If you are going to university to learn Shakespeare and little else other than feelz, I might suggest taking a page from Good Will Hunting and save your money and go to the local library.

Not me. I hope they all have jobs and are paying back those loans.
