Mizzou opens at -7

I’m tempted to take Tennessee to cover 7 and possibly win outright. I’m not there yet, but thinking about it.

That's not what it means at all. The odds makers simply try to place the line where they think it will encourage equal betting on both sides... and then they adjust the line accordingly, when the bets start being made.
But you get 3.5 up front at home right?

No, they’re good. Their offense is very balanced, as opposed to Kentucky’s. They’ll be much more difficult for Tennessee to beat than Kentucky was imo.
They are very similar to Vandy in that they are balanced. To say they're good is off base though. They are one of the worst teams in the SEC this year. The problem is TN is in that group as well. It is not a gimmie win for either team. If TN shows up as they did against Auburn, usc, and KY; TN can and should win. If not, it could be a blow-out for Mizzou.

According to some guys who are good at these type questions, on our home field, they are about 7 points better than us.
They typically give teams 3 points for being at home, esp with the advantage of Neyland. Which means those guys are thinking 10, but dropped it to 7 bc it’s in Knoxville.

The confidence that this team gained last week needs to bleed into this week. This is a winnable game but we can’t let it get away from us too quick.

I honestly dont look for us to win this Saturday. I think Mizzou has too much offensive firepower and we cannot get into a boat race with them. Unless Guarantano has the game of his life and Pruitt D-Coordinates the game of his life, this very well could be a similar game to West Virginia.

Lock is severely overrated. Control the WRs, and it's an easy win.

It seems one day he lights it up then the next day overrated. Lit up Fl and their DBs have speed and decent ability. But I only watched a piece of the game.

This game could go anyway depending on which UT shows up and which Lock shows up it seems

Better more balanced offense.

Defense is not as good as UK.

The thing that may give us the most trouble is their tempo on offense. Our D is lacking quality depth and tends to fade late like against SCjr. Besides all the obvious things needed to play winning football, we need long drives on O to rest our D. Hopefully it will be cold which helps our Dline not tire as quickly.

The original line came out around 5pm, it has since been bet down to -5. So when that site opened up taking bets on the game it was already down to -5
Vegas Insider does show the line opening at 5, fwiw. They show opening at 5 and now up to 5.5.

I see oddshark shows it opened at 7. They also show the predicted score of 32-36 Missouri.

I don't have a clue how this game will go down. I do know UT has a chance of winning and I have a meaningful game to watch! The off season is soooooo long!

Keep on underestimating this team. That spread is not based on where the team is now, but where we were earlier. Ugly losses influence that spread. Our defense has put together 8 solid quarters now. I’m liking our player development and team improvements over this year
