Why don't we use Jennings as a running back?

New England is having success using Cordarrelle Patterson as a running back.

We do... every time we get him in space on a quick throw. We're never better than when Jennings or Callaway have the ball in their hands underneath or on a screen. Why put them behind d the LOS and get them killed?
This.

Let them play against corners, safeties and the occasional LB away from the LOS. Nothing good goes on around there these days.

Pretty cool seeing Patterson line up in the backfield, though. He had 11 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown tonight.
It's one thing I have to give props to Dools for. He fed the ball to CP like crazy. I'm sure he knew the guy wasn't going to make the grades for another season. So he was one and done. Wildcats, jet sweeps, reverses, screens, slants, KRs, toss sweeps. At least Dools knew who's hands to keep the ball in.

Drove me nuts last season watching Callaway get targeted once or twice in an entire game. I would have put the ball in his hands 10-15x every game. No way on Earth our offense could have been worse.

I give more credit to Chaney.

I would like to see him in the wildcat. He has the ability to throw it a little. Using Jordan, the defense just keys on the run.
