Did you record those HS coaches? Maybe you can submit an audio link...in case we think you’re lying?Show me those reports. I've heard the exact opposite from the hs coaches in his area as well. Everyone we've talked to says he doesn't have the accuracy or velo of his brother. He's a much better runner though and it's clear. We'll see if he can beat out Bear Bryant's grandson in a couple of years.
Eason was Richt's guy and Fromm and Fields were both #1 ranked QBs in their class and Ga was mysteriously signing 5 stars left and right so there's some extra math in there that's hard to prove. Of course you take the top 2 if you can get them but you had better be prepared to lose one once the starter is announced, and when the other leaves guess who they go out and sign...a QB that can plan on never being the starter or getting many reps. You need to be more fluid. Why’d Smart bring in Fromm after Eason and Fields after Fromm? You’re advocating recruiting scared and I don’t believe that’s who we hired. You don’t recruit someone to backup...thought we covered that?![]()
And Smart had to re-recruit Eason because he was sniffing around Florida and other teams...he was wanted. No staff goes out to sign a lesser quarterback for the express purpose of being a backup. Keep trying to sell that but have a place to store it because no one with a lick of cognizance is buying.Eason was Richt's guy and Fromm and Fields were both #1 ranked QBs in their class and Ga was mysteriously signing 5 stars left and right so there's some extra math in there that's hard to prove. Whatever man, I've given you like 5 examples of teams that are doing it now and we've done it several times the last several years. McBride, Worley, young Clausen, Ferguson, Shrout, Dormandy and the Jones kid that left, came back and left again, do you think all those guys were being recruited to be a starter? And Smart had to re-recruit Eason because he was sniffing around Florida and other teams...he was wanted. agree 2 disagree....We are not the NFL, scholarship #'s if nothing else !Of course you take the top 2 if you can get them but you had better be prepared to lose one once the starter is announced, and when the other leaves guess who they go out and sign...a QB that can plan on never being the starter or getting many reps.
YES! Except for Dormandy...we never signed a QB by that name. McBride was the top QB we could land in his class. And all of those other names were heavily pursued by us as STARTERS. You think you remember us pursuing Casey Clausen as a backup? You guys hawk edibles also?Whatever man, I've given you like 5 examples of teams that are doing it now and we've done it several times the last several years. Don’t play coy with meI wish! Went to a basketball game there once and same week saw N Carolina play Clemson in Chapel Hill. I'm a fan of Tar Heel basketball ever since Jordan. Duke & N Carolina being 7 miles apart on the same main rd is crazy good I think. Lots of great schools within a 45 sq mile radius over there. Duke University performed major surgery on my mom years ago, love the Duke/NC rivalry, top 5 rivalry across all sports I believe!
I would expect that until the Vols are eliminated from bowl contention it will be JG with KC as backup. McBride is redshirting and won't play at all and Shrout will be a coaches decision and probably won't play at all this year.I think we see Chryst more than Shrout as the year winds down.
JG will continue to be our starter, as long as he stays healthy enough, and the dominant goal remains to win games, but CJP is going to look for opportunities to get Chryst some time to help make his case for the NFL. It's one of the ways a coach takes care of the players who sign on with his program when they have pro potential.
JT can wait. He may get a series during a bowl game, if we make one. Other than that, we'll see him in 2019.
Put down the peyote and you will stop seeing things.Interesting. Appears that Will McBride is 4th string, at the bottom of the depth chart. Seems to me that a lot of, if not most of the same people who loved McBride and actually thought he had a great shot to be the starter, even thought he should be the starter, are the same people who can’t stand JG and the fact that he’s the starter and criticize him at every turn. I see a correlation.....
If the game goes according to plan tomorrow vs Charlotte, and we’re winning handily, I think JG starts and plays maybe a half, KC starts the second half and plays 1.5 quarters or so and Shrout gets in for a series or 2, just to get his feet wet with some live game action. McBride has been recruited over in the form of both Shrout and Maurer, and I fully expect him to move on after the end of the season.I would expect that until the Vols are eliminated from bowl contention it will be JG with KC as backup. Put do

I thought McBride looked great in his high school videos when we recruited him but JG is who we need at QB.Interesting. Appears that Will McBride is 4th string, at the bottom of the depth chart. Just never understood your animus towards the kid...borders on personal if not open border crossing. Wasn’t personally a proponent of McBride starting in the future, but at some point don’t you let your “evaluation” stand on it’s own? It’s not like winning an argument on this board made him 4th string. His skills or lack therof accomplish that.Haha. No peyote, just seeing clearly. Same people who wanted McBride, who the coaches have made the 4th string qb, are the same people who can’t understand why JG, who’s the 4th rated qb in the SEC, has been and continues to be the starter. In other words, those guys have no idea how to evaluate and accurately critique a quarterback.
Shouts for Shrout: Will Tennessee give the freshman quarterback a look in 2018?
The article says that Tennessee fans are either pushing for it, or they would love to see it.

I think the dissatisfaction with _
JG, comes from people's preferences.
If a person likes a pocket passer, then he is likely not going to satisfied with Mike Vick as UT QB.
If you like a scrambling QB then you don't want Phillip Rivers as your QB
Don't think the JG dislike comes from him being from Jersey or from him not being Caucasian etc.
