You obviously don’t follow much football because you can throw a receiver open on the deep ball even if there isn’t much separation. Yes, JG is a very efficient QB, but it is amazing seeing how many people come barking at his defense the minute someone criticizes even 1 tiny aspect of his game.
EXACTLY. One classic example of Guarantano NOT leading a reciever, that had his defender beat, all while making it a "back shoulder throw" was his jump ball to Palmer against Alabama. Go back and watch. Palmer had his guy beat on a GO route down the sideline, but instead of throwing to where Palmer could run under it he underthrows it about 7-10 yards. Palmer makes a great jump and catch that also leads to him falling off balance to the ground and getting a likely concussion. Ironically, this is the EXACT throw that some Guarantano homers love to refer to as THE lone example of a great throw he had in the game. It was not a good throw and this video proves it. Look as soon as Palmer gets into the picture and see if he doesn't have his defender beat by about two steps. The safety, nor the corner, would've had a chance if the throw had been more out in front of Palmer. Instead, he literally floats the ball to the inside of the field to where the corner almost made a play to break it up.
Amazing how Guarantano fans have a tendency to skew the descriptions of supposed "great" throws.
Go to the 2:45 mark for this supposed great throw...
