Agreed! My concern is our fans will have him tarred, feathered and thrown in the Tennessee river before then. I’m actually confident Pruitt can do something like this given his background and highly competing disposition. Just not certain yet he will the space to do it. I didn’t mind the outcome of the Schianomo, but I also found it frightening at the same time because I think it reflected a false view that Tennessee is a quick fix program. It’s just not. Not right now after all we’ve been through.

Thus, among other things, if we lose one in Columbia this weekend, don’t hang it around Pruitt’s neck and say he ain’t the guy. We just don’t know that yet and we won’t for a long long time.
I have faith that our fan base has been humbled. Those calling for 8-4 or better prior to this season will never be satisfied. I saw 4-5 wins prior to year and many know me as an optimistic poster. Facts are we’ve made terrible decisions at the President/AD/Head coaching positions since 2003 (Hamilton). We as fans need to take the Clemson approach as a model. Young coach with recruiting chops. Donors and Boosters on same page (Itpay). AD that knows football (Fulmer). Legit strength program. Recruit a stud QB. And a fan base that’s supportive, loud, and present at football, basketball, baseball and every other damn sport our university plays.

It works and we need to understand that Pruitt and Fulmer just arrived here. Let’s get 6 wins and f*** s**t up!

As an example, it took Dabo, another first time head coach (who inherited a better roster in a weaker conference), about 4 years to get them really going good (10 win seasons, conference title appearances, big time bowls) and then they stalled at that level for a few seasons, and then by year 7 they were really elite (perennial national title contender).

I think it's reasonable to expect Coach Pruitt to have us very good by year 4-5 (10+ win seasons, division titles, big time bowls), and if he's truly a special/elite coach like we hope, then by year 7-8 we could be where Clemson is now (perennial national title contender).
I would have no issue with this. To have some confidence going into a 4-5 year investment it'd be nice to finish with a bowl and a top 15 class. K thanks.

Earlier in the season, there was a comment by Pruitt that calling a defensive game is easier on the road because it's quieter when the other team has the ball. I've often wondered about that, the way the defense showed up at Auburn, and those clips of Pruitt calling out last minute defensive calls.
That may be true but Neyland is pretty quiet this year.....

I’m thinking we lose and there are some further issues with player engagement personally. I think those issues will haunt the rest of season until Pruitt can fully weed out the good from the bad. I could be completely wrong.
I really hope you are wrong because that is a 180 from where we were leaving AU.

Winning fixes all kinds of woes and worries.

Do you guy want to see more Byrd?
If he can be productive in more than just blocking, then yeah.

I'm really rooting for him. His willingness to a STs guy and blocker has been nice to see this year. I'm hoping things come together for him as a WR and he can make some sort of impact for us down the stretch.

Strange how most were so excited about him being a beast at RB

I was one of those. Until his fumble plague started killing us. What really took the cake was when he fumble the onside kick. Love the kid and love his passion and energy. He may wind up back at RB once he proves himself. (fumbles)

One thing that I love about Pruitt is I believe he hates losing more than all of us put together. That alone should be all we need for this to get fixed.

I feel good about USC game. They are not as good as UGA, Bama, or WV and definitely have a worse D and less talent than AU.

Also Stidham, Tua, and Hurts have all had their worst games statistically against us with no dominant pass rush and two freshman corners.
