How many folks would pay money to see this--------

At the end of each season, the college national champ gets to extend the season one more game and play the NFL team with the worst record every year... Neutral site.
Can’t even get star players to show up for bowl games...this’ll never fly.

Yes, but because of Tua, it would be close. A combination of LSU, Auburn, and Ga's defense would be able to stop them. An offense that combines Drew Lock with Ole Miss receivers and others, a dominant combination of an OL, and Ga's backs with Benny Snell and Ty Chandler. They would beat Bama. But it would be close.
Isn’t it crazy that a case could be made that Bama would win? Mind blowing to me.

Or KC is just better at making sure he has the right block scheme for the pressure coming. JG gets nailed whether we have the numbers or not because he doesn't move in the pocket well or doesn't adjust correctly just ignores what is coming. JG will not take the next level until he figures it out.

I'd start KC vs. Carolina. Muschamp will bring the pressure. Then bring JG back the next wk
I hope Muschamp tries to bring pressure if we start KC. He seems to do a great job in the quick game.

If he decides to rush 4, leave 8 men in coverage, and force KC to make a lot of those in tighter windows then the results won’t be pretty, IMO.

JG has a better arm but KC is a better QB. Its that simple.

They're not going back to the wilderness. If they are it won't be any time soon. They've always been the big dog in this conference and they likely always will be.
I’d like to see their win percentage sans Bear and Saban. Still probably pretty good but they’ve also just been lucky with two great hires.

They’re going to drop off when he leaves. It’s almost impossible not to.

Behind this OL, probably. If JG played behind an OL that excelled in pass blocking, I think he could be really productive. Not sure we’ll have one of those too soon.

But both guys are very flawed in different ways.

Can someone explain the better arm thing. I have to be honest the only QB to actually throw it over top the defense this year has been Chryst when given the chance. JG focuses too much on the back shoulder and misses too many opportunities to show off his arm talent when his receivers have a step.

The arm thing will stand out more when it comes to fitting intermediate type passes into small windows. JG can put enough zip on balls to get away with that moreso than KC. DBs will have more chances to jump KCs passes because he doesn’t have that kind of arm strength and accuracy.

He has shown much better touch so far though and does throw a really catchable ball. I just worry about which team will be doing the catching if defenses make KC try to win with his arm instead of his decision making.

There used to be something like this, the College All Star game. You had a group of incoming pro football rookies playing against the NFL champions, and every once and a while the college players won.

KC was putting the ball on the money on Saturday, but like you said that may change if defenses are prepared for him. Also, when has JG done that? (Real question) To have so much confidence that he can put the ball in between the second and third level.

JG has a stronger arm...it’s obvious. Talent is subjective.

I'm old enough to remember watching these games...they were typical All-Star game snoozers. The College All-Stars didn't have a lot of prep time and the NFL champs regularly slept walked through the game.

Sure they'll drop off some. But the only way they're going back to the wilderness is if they hire a Butch Jones type and keep him around for five or six years, which they won't do. Swinney, Pruitt, or whoever they hire next will still have them competing for championships year in and year out.

I don’t have the time right now to comb over every throw he’s made this year to point out the times JG has made those types of throws, but if you watch the Casey Abasian UT-Auburn highlights video there’s one that jumps out from the drive right before half time (around the 3m mark) where he fits a ball into a tight window. There was a defender who saw it coming and came off his Mann to make a play, but the ball had too much zip for him to break it up. Obviously it’s not like he’s making tons of them every day or he’d have better stats on the season, but he’s flashed that arm strength this season and even last season a couple times. His lack of pocket awareness and our bad OL means his opportunities have been limited. KC has never really showed that kind of arm strength though and the games he really struggled at Stanford were when teams made a lot of plays on throws he made like that.

I imagine most teams will just try to blitz and exploit how terrible our OL is though, so I’m not sure how much of an issue that would be anyway, at least for the first few games KC is back. You just know Muschamp is gonna have a game plan that gives us a chance no matter what lol
