I’m done with Bama series. Texas A&M ended its rivalry with Texas to get better as a program. We need to do the same by allowing conference realignment. We’d be much happier about our season and our possibility for a successful rebuild if we were just now coming off a game against cross divisional rival Arkansas.

Auburn to the east. Mizzou to the west.

Let’s do this!
Texas A&M LEFT THE CONFERENCE or they’d be playing every year. Discussions are ongoing to renew the series.

Not that I disagree with your overall point but I think Bama called off the attack dogs much Ealier than other games. I think Saban slowed it down after JG left the game

Or KC is just better at making sure he has the right block scheme for the pressure coming. JG gets nailed whether we have the numbers or not because he doesn't move in the pocket well or doesn't adjust correctly just ignores what is coming. JG will not take the next level until he figures it out.

I'd start KC vs. Carolina. Muschamp will bring the pressure. Then bring JG back the next wk

A different way to frame conference realignment is to state simply: we want Georgia’s schedule.

It’s succinct and gets to the point that there is a big imbalance between our schedule and the ones Florida and Georgia have.

Just the plain facts boys and girls.

Now that the NCAA allows conference championship games in conferences that don't even have divisions, it's time to completely get rid of the divisional model altogether. The SEC should switch to an alignment of 3 locked "rivalry games" per school, and then have 5 more rotating conference games per year, for a total of 8 games. The math is really easy. You have 3 locked rivals, leaving 10 other conference teams. You play 5 in year 1, and the other 5 in year 2. Over the course of 4 years, you've played your 3 best rivals every year, and you've played every other team in the conference 2 times, and you've hosted every team in the conference as well as visited every other stadium in the conference. The conference title game would be the two best records, just like it is in the Big XII.

For Tennessee, our rivals would likely be Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Alabama. We'd still get Florida and Georgia every other year, and would also get much more frequent games with Auburn, LSU and Ole Miss which would be nice.

Other schools 3 locks could be:

Tennessee: Vandy, Kentucky, Alabama
Florida: Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn
Kentucky: Tennessee, Vandy, Missouri
Georgia: Florida, Auburn, South Carolina
South Carolina: Georgia, Florida, Miss St.
Vanderbilt: Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss
Missouri: Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas A&M
Texas A&M: LSU, Missouri, Arkansas
LSU: Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss
Arkansas: LSU, Texas A&M, Missouri
Ole Miss: Vandy, LSU, Miss St.
Miss St: Ole Miss, Alabama, South Carolina
Alabama: Auburn, Tennessee, Miss St.
Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, Florida

Disagree by a lot

35-7 games are a lot of easier to play QB in.

The debate of division seems very simple to me. The only games that should count in establishing if you play in Atlanta should be from the east. Then you can keep your rivals in the west where those games count as out of conference.

Bet auburn would be happy. ... no way

If an All-Star team of all of the SEC teams were put together what it beat Alabama?
Yes, but because of Tua, it would be close. A combination of LSU, Auburn, and Ga's defense would be able to stop them. An offense that combines Drew Lock with Ole Miss receivers and others, a dominant combination of an OL, and Ga's backs with Benny Snell and Ty Chandler. They would beat Bama. But it would be close.

I think we’re going to finish this recruiting class with Wright, Gray, one of the speedy receivers (Ellis, Payton, or Brown), and EJ. That leaves our biggest need being on the DL. We’re probably losing Cox, so we need another DT and we need a pass rusher. If Gus is fired maybe we can flip Pappoe. We have the potential to finish with a top 10 class if we add these guys and maybe upgrade at a few positions.

I am not sucked into anything really, but I believe we have enough talent to compete with USC. We will see though.

We have enough talent, but we are banged up coming off a pretty hard schedule run and SC will be rested from the bye week and will be playing at home with their crowd. We are razor thin right now with depth, have a bruised QB who some on here still think is the second coming, and several guys in the secondary that may be out along with Palmer potentially. It will be a good game, but the odds definitely fall in their favor.

Don't see Gus getting fired but I still think Pappoe can be flipped. Gus being on the hot seat will be utilized by opposing coaches.

I expect a grad transfer or two to help on the DL. We need experienced players. WVU took a grad transfer DL from Southern Cal this year that really has helped them. We need two of them for next year. Plus I don't believe they would count against our 25 recruiting limit.

Agree, except for the last sentence. JMO - if our Vols beat USCe, ride the hot hand as it's the most important position on the field and sets the tone for the whole game. Helton, JG and Carvin led to Bama's blow out in the first quarter as well as other losses against UF and UGA. CJP can handle Helton. KC at QB and Niehaus to go with Locklear at G handle the JG/Carvin issues and will make Helton look much better. If KC underperforms, enter JG.

How many folks would pay money to see this--------

At the end of each season, the college national champ gets to extend the season one more game and play the NFL team with the worst record every year... Neutral site.

The NFL team would absolutely blow them out every year. I always think this is a silly hypothetical.

And part of that is Bama's O line blatantly holding and tackling D linemen on the other team, not worrying about a call because it never happens. Bama privilege.

It is sickening. Everybody wants Bama's "great" O-line. I guess so when Bama owns the SEC. Then they go to the NFL and are just average performers at best. Imagine that.

Alabama’s record from 1995-2007. Two 4-win seasons. One 3-win season. Can’t wait until they’re back in the wilderness. Their fans deserve every minute of it.

Onward young Vol fans!
They're not going back to the wilderness. If they are it won't be any time soon. They've always been the big dog in this conference and they likely always will be.
