Got up early to re-watch parts of the game I recorded...

Look, like I said yesterday, JG has a huge heart and gives 100%, but he is just not as aware in the pocket and able to go through his progressions as Chryst seems to be. They both have proven they can throw the long ball, but Chryst was hitting guys in stride over and over... For a guy coming in cold and only playing garbage time, his chemistry and timing seemed to be better against the #1 team in the country. It will be interesting to see what the coaches do this week.

I think there will be some shake-ups in the roster after Pruitt made it clear he wants guys out there that are all in and are going to bring it every play... hopefully the team reacts properly to the "call out"...

Refs... lord that was some pitiful officiating. Bama privilege at its best. Bama O line literally tackling our guys to give Tua extra time. 50/50 jawing and we get called for it, etc... I have no problem with Hall getting some penalties because he wasn't taking anyone's 'ish... total BS call on Banks. He was just fired up and talking back and forth with Bama guy and gave him a "let's go" slap, but I can see where they could justify a penalty. Bama players know they can get away with anything and will blatantly hold until they get called. They try and bully teams with the little things like pushing off opponents after tackles, etc... Crazy thing is they don't even need the extra help... If anything, you would think the refs would feel sorry for all the teams they play and give them the calls...

We can get to a bowl if some kids are able to come back from being dinged up and we don't sustain anymore serious injuries. I like us against every other team we play. Mizz may be the only game where we may be in over our head with their passing game and our secondary. I really think the SC game will be closer if we are able to heal and rest this week.

I can’t figure out the insistence of playing Trey at LT. He looks terrible.

As bad as HE is, his backup would be worse. He’s at least 80 percent effective. He must not be healthy. But like you, I’ve been saying he’s not a tackle. He doesn’t have the kick step. Trey needs to be inside next year

The whole country (except for some Ohio State fans) were rooting for them. I am so glad he got to see this game in person and celebrate with the team.

I'm glad he got to see it as well. I'm also glad I watched that alone. I'm a mess. The FIL died of bone cancer and lung cancer. It was fast but exceptionally painful. Much love to this young man, his family, his friends and to Purdue for making it happen.

Yep, I get that argument. Let me know if anyone gets within 24 points, or if it’s necessary to ever play the starters more than 2 1/2 quarters
Hey, there’s no doubt they are the best team in the country but y’all are talking GOAT and we’re probably the second best team they’ve faced to date.

There’s a theme in these interviews. Players are getting called out

Not by name---and guess what---those same guys will be playing the next game. If Pruitt is not happy with the effort of some guys, why the hell does he not bench them? If you're gonna get whipped, get whipped with guys that at least give max effort.

Bama is the 1st one we lost to by 30+

Not sure why I put a plus in there, just meant average. ( 26+26+37 ) / 3 = ~30 (rounded)

Those guys blitzed us and I’m honestly not sure another first year UT coach has lost by more to them in a single season. But in an odd way it doesn’t bother me the way it would have under past new coaches. I don’t think Pruitt was trying to window dress to keep those scores close.

That’s because Butch was fake and Pruitt is not. The same score result on the field doesn’t quite feel the same when one is achieved by a fraud and the other is not.

Pruitt is authentic. And I think that will bode well for the program.

Do the Titans start Henry or do they start Lewis? Lewis needs to be getting the bulk of the carries from games I’ve seen. Offense just looks better with him. I’ve admittedly only watched like one full game of the Titans though so correct me if I’m wrong.

Pocket and Blitz awareness are the places JG has to work on. Lot of positives out of yesterday. After Butch, the sheet honestly from Pruitt is fantastic. Thought Kyle Phillips pick return was just incredible. What effort in a game down like we were. He’s changing the culture.

Love me some Kyle Phillips and Ty Chandler. Guys are tough no matter the score. Tennessee boys too.

Games almost over, you record it?

Thoughts from yesterday:
First off, no UT team thats even taken the field would stay within 14 of the current Bama team. Not Peytons teams, not 98 not 2001. This is the best team ive ever seen. 2001 Miami is the only squad i can think of who might stay within a TD. But even with them that Bama O is much better than that Miami one and even that all world Cane D isnt as good as this one. Then add in Saban and its a clear Bama advantage. We're witnessing an ugly red history.

1.Pruitts halftime comment about needing another recruiting cycle was spot on. Anybody calling him insensitive clearly hasnt listened to anything the guy has said since hes been here. His players love him because hes honest and honesty isnt always pretty. I think the old saying is "the truth shall set you free but first its gonna piss you off".
2. Chryst looked good but Gman should still be the starter. Both have their flashes and moments, yesterday was a better fit for Keller and his get the ball out fast style but i still think Gman is more accurate on both deep and intermediate routes and is tough as nails. Shocked he didnt get knocked out sooner. Bama didnt brutalize Keller nearly as much.
3. Anybody who expected anything more or less than we saw yesterday was unrealistic. We are a lower/middle SEC team right now even with our improvements as of late. It is what it is. You dont have to be happy about it or even ok with it, you just gotta accept it for the time being. The next 5 are toss ups if we play like we did vs Auburn. 8-4, is doable with luck and great play, 7-4 is very possible and 6-6 is where i think the floor is, a bowl game will happen.

TLDR: Bama good, Vols currently mediocre, Pruitt is blunt but right, Gman still QB, last 5 are winnable, progress is still happening, Eff Ohio State.

Guys, you can't take anything from the game yesterday. Just like Coach said yesterday, it's going to take recruiting. We have to get players. We have to outbid Bama for these players. The bag men have to step up. Coach Pruitt knows how it's done. Smart at Georgia knows how it's done. Both probably have dirt on Bama so they can do it without fear of Bama turning them in. Any 5* players should be getting $50K signing bonuses. Hugh Freeze knew the formula. He just got sloppy.
