With Heitkamp pretty much finished in North Dakota, the only way for Democrats to take back the senate is to win either Tennessee or Texas. They’re not winning either, so that should kill any talk of the senate flipping.

I think she is a good role model for young people. She was being compared to someone like Justin Beiber, so I had to speak out. We also know she went through that sexual harrassment trial with the Disc Jockey, (which she won) so she would tend to feel strongly about being believed.

that's the thing-- if it's "possible", then he should never have gotten the job, this wasn't a criminal trial. I know some of the guy's wives on here (who have been though assault) thought Ford was a big liar, and give people who have been assaulted a bad name, so there is that view too. I also think while many people on here are skeptical at the reasoning for the OTT outrage right now from women protesters (just afraid about their abortions, etc) there are women who have been through harrassment and assault, and don't think it's a very rare occurence.

In other words, you have no reasonable doubt as to his guilt.
In your mind, there is no possible or even probable. He did it because she said so.

Come on GV, we have Grab Em Donald Trump as our President. He was Mr. Celebrity Apprentice, called Regis and Kathie Lee daily, harrassed Obama for years and the Republicans ate it up. At least Taylor is a nice person.

The only reason it's possible is because she said so. If we start throwing people to the side when someone comes out of the wood work from 35 years prior without any substance, we'll get no one confirmed, ever. Especially if the Republicans adopt the smear strategy of the Democrats. You can always find someone to make something up that is not provable either way from 35 years ago. Especially if they stand to make a cool mil off it.

I'm not sure which part of "don't care about any celebrity when it comes to politics" that I made unclear.

For the record, as soon as Trump announced, he became a politician regardless of his thoughts on the matter.

I hope the Republicans do adopt that strategy. I don't think it is remotely possible that the Dims can find anybody that lives up to their standard. We'll have the Harry Reid nuclear option and the Chucky Shumer test of purity. The democrats have reached a point where it will be impossible for them to perpetuate the party.

Okay, YOU don't care about celebrities opinions, and for that matter, I don't either. You have to at least acknowledge that many people DO listen to what celebrities say, and at least Taylor is a good role model.

They wouldn't be in that situation because they haven't done that.. I really don't think there are millions of evil women that just go around falsely accusing men because its so much fun to do so.

Why is the party that always holds itself out as “educated” compared to others obsessed with what a bunch of uneducated celebrities think?

I actually think Ford came forward in good faith. Kavanaugh was being considered for the SC when Mitt Romney was running back in 2012, the same time Ford allegedly told her therapist. Now that K was being considered again, she came forward again. There is a pattern indicating that she had genuine concern over K being a SCJ.

However, the Dems turned Ford into a political weapon and politicized the whole process.
