Yep, the other poster just said "as close as anyone", that's completely different than "same as".
But those goal posts are fast when it comes to having a chance to minimize UT and kneepad up for another team. 😂
He literally said "we truly were Bama level dominant for 7-8 years there." We were not that dominant, period. We weren't really close.

Not really. Florida was the big dog in this league then. Clemson's run over the last 6 or 7 years has been just as good, if not better than the run Tennessee had.
It’s just as good. Only reason UT’s isn’t better is because our 8-4 season, yea I agree Florida was the big dog, but we weren’t much behind at all

He said from 95-98. And is it pretty close depending on which years you use for Bama. 10-13 for bama they had two National Titles, 2 Confefence titles, 2 top 5 finishes, 7 losses. Fulmer has 5 losses, 2 Conference titles and 1 national title, 2 top 5 finished. That’s pretty dang close

If you use Bamas most dominate stretch it’s 3 national titles, 2 conference titles, 5 losses, 1 season outside top 5.

He said 7-8 years. Alabama has won 5 of the last 9 national championships, and they're probably getting ready to make it 6 of the last 10. They've won the conference 5 times over that span as well. 5 national titles, to Tennessee's 1. 5 conference titles, to Tennessee's 2. I just don't consider that to be very close.

Because we truly were Bama level dominant for about 7-8 years there. It just wasn’t as easy to get a championship back then because you couldn’t lose your division and still win the national championship. Nick Saban has done that twice. Know a family from Louisiana that still dislikes the Vols mainly because of how good we were in the 90’s.
"7-8 years there." This is the post I'm talking about.

How is it that Mullen already has Florida competing with a very good LSU team? Are they really that much more talented than us?
No.

Dan Mullen can coach.

People wanna mention the 7-8 wins and record against top 25 and completely ignore the context of where he was at

They haven’t celebrated an SEC title in Starkville since before WWII for a reason.

Mullen is a better coach right now and Florida has better players suited for the scheme they run and with a non loser mentality.

Pruitt is starting from ground zero himself being a new HC. Hes gotta get his guys to fill the roster and scheme. It will take us a lot more time to win than it will for Florida.

We don't pass the eye test physically looking at LSU and Florida. Both are faster as well.

The Gap is wider than some think.

Yea, but the MSU win was about defense. I am not a huge fan of Grantham, but he has done well so far. Mullen is good at using what he has. Still not sold on his recruiting for Florida to dominate, but we will see.
