Agreed. It seems like rivalry games always have surprising outcomes every few years. Weird things happen. But we just seem to consistently either get pummeled (Bama) or find bizarre ways to lose (UF). Thank God for 2016. Without that win I'd be pretty convinced we'd go 20+ years without beating Florida.
We're lucky donkey was UF's coach and not Urb. He'd be 14-0 against Tennessee if he was still there lol.

I am hoping that Pruitt knows how Saban thinks and something miraculous happens.

Before the season I thought that. But I’m not confident we have the horses on defense (we look slower than I expected). Plus Tua is much better than I thought (my orange tinted instincts lied to me once again by telling me he was a tad overrated).

I bet it is 42-7 at the half, and the crowd will be largely crimson in the second half.

Alright sorry guys I’m not nearly as negative as I sound. I think we snag two SEC wins this year and I think if we give Pruitt time and space he will have us in a good spot where we are fun to watch.

I do confess I don’t think we will get to the college football playoffs anytime soon unless they expand it a bunch. I’ve started to lose faith that we are that kind of program in the modern era of the SEC.
Tennessee at best is the 6th best program in this league IMO. Don't care about history and tradition. It doesn't mean anything. Not many folks outside of the Tennessee fanbase realize the kind of history we have anyway. Tennessee is perceived nationally to be a Kentucky/Vanderbilt like program. We're going to have to give Pruitt time to build it. It's our last chance IMO.

The younger generation of fans definitely views us on that level. Older fans of other programs who know our history just really enjoy seeing us struggle for as long as we have. It's kinda bizarre how hated we are given how non-threatening we've been since 2008. I've met people who just vehemently hate the Vols but don't really have animosity against other teams. And many of those people are Tennesseans.

Tennessee players from the NFL are incredible personalities. (at least we have that). Who is more fun than Kamara? (and record breaking) Manning is a legend, Eric Berry is very loved, and they don't keep it a secret where they went to college.

Kentucky and Vandy aren’t even that. Your history is off.
I said at best. I think the national perception of the Tennessee program is similar to that of Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Why? Because that's the level we've been on for over a decade. Our biggest rival is Vanderbilt, competitively speaking.
