Been disappointed in DKjr’s tackling too. Most of the team really, but you should not see a freshman QB breaking a weak arm tackle by your SR mlbLiked the effort, especially on defense.
I gotta say tho, dkjr is struggling. He missed several tackles where he got good contact.
The punt team penalties we're just bad.
Offensively wet showed some signs of life, but we still have a ways to go.
Biggest things I see from yesterday... Still got started slow. And we don't know how to finish.
And not gonna lie, Pruitt got me in the feelz in his post game presser. Easy to see why players love that guy.
I think the bye is good at this point. I'll be interested to see what Kind of adjustments we make over the next two weeks.
Lastly, made it to the bye relatively healthy... Big positive there.
I'm not buying the Kentucky hype just yet. They've done this before over the past few years.
2014:
Started 5-1
Finished 0-6
2015:
Started 4-1
Finished 1-6
2016:
Fairly even throughout the year.
2017:
Started 5-1
Finished 2-5
Maybe they turned the corner this year. Otherwise, it appears Stoops does just enough to get an extension, and then takes the second half of the year off.
UK is an improved team, and they're playing with a lot of confidence. But UF, Miss St and SCAR are worse than people thought. The media seems determined to make UK a Cinderella, but let's see how they play aTm and UGA. And let's see how much UT can improve by the time the Cats roll into Neyland. The Vols can get better every game-- and maybe they will.

Yeah you have no idea what's going on. Classic example of a guy who's probably never played a down of football in his life who pretends like he really knows the specifics of what's going on out there.Ok @HankHill...Time to give Chryst a shot...There I said it..JG is not getting better at this point, and this offense is not going to be good enough to hide his shortcomings. I know he has potential, but he just is not realizing that potential at all. He is just football dumb, and just can not process info quick enough to use his talents.
I agree..It's like people just look at numbers without really checking them out. Kentucky is a good football team this year...period.I think the difference in the 2018 version of UK compared to previous seasons, is that UK typically had a pretty easy first half of the schedule, where there SEC games were UF, SC, and Vandy. They would lose to the gators in a heartbreaker, sneak by SC and beat Vandy, and struggle with 3 cupcakes. This season they beat the gators, and literally bludgeoned Miss. St. and SC, and handled the 2 cupcakes pretty easily after sluggish starts in those games.
I will give Stoops a lot of credit. He continually RSed most of his OLs and gave them time to develop and get stronger, and that OL is very good. The DL is not great, but solid, but he has some really good LBs, and he has an elite edge rusher in Allen.
Snell is a beast who runs angry with a chip on his shoulder and the rest of the team seems to have taken on that mindset. They really just needed a good QB, and Wilson gives them an extra running back with speed, which makes it difficult to key solely on Snell. And their WRs, who I really haven't thought much of the last couple of seasons, are finally seeming to look like SEC receivers with their routes and catching.
I will not be surprised at all to see them go to College Station and beat aTm.
I will say one thing about their game with SC last night. As bad as they gashed the SC defense in the first half last night, in the second half SC loaded the box and made Wilson, who is a much better runner than passer, have to move the ball through the air. Gant chose to keep the ball on the ground, and the UK ground game was fairly stagnant in the second half of that game. A UK fan tried to tell me that Stoops ent conservative so as not to embarrass Muschamp, but that is obviously BS. No coach calls the dogs off in the 3rd qtr with only a 2 TD lead. But bottom line, against UGA, possibly even aTM, there is going to be a time when Stoops needs Wilson to win a game with his arm, and the jury is still out on whether he can do that for the marbles.
