The US had very few guys playing at their peak compared to the Euros, who are also playing on home turf on a course they regularly play. Predictable outcomes made worse by Furyk's pairing decisions.
What in the world is he thinking with some of these pairings? Why do you keep putting Tiger and whoever up against the hottest team from Europe? Give Thomas and Spieth or someone else a chance to take them down. Why in the world play Mickelson in alternate shot yesterday??? He’s been terrible lately. At least put him in best ball where he can be aggressive and hope his partner bails him out sometimes. Furyk has been the worst captain I’ve seen for the USA in quite some time.

I’ll disagree on McBride. I’ve never heard anyone legitimately say he was in the future plans.

Anyway, I don’t think Shrout is a sure thing by any stretch. But like I said, Helton hand picked him for his system. He’s going to get an opportunity - I would almost guarantee it.

There’s something to what @HankHill is insinuating about JG. There’s something missing there. I don’t know what it is. But I do know his teammates don’t really respect him.

The respect him things. As Butch would say, that’s BS, that right there is BS.

This the first time in a long while I'm not scheduling my days around the UT football game. Got a lot of things to do and if I have some time I'll watch some of it. It for the most part I'll be doing other things.
Idc if we get beat by 100. There are so few of these games a year that I won’t purposely miss seeing that orange on the field.

Hank’s position isn’t really that hard to figure out.

He’s never said JG is THE problem but he’s part of the problem along with play calling and OL play. I’m not sure how anyone can argue with that.

JG has plenty of room for improvement and KC would not have changed our 2-2 record we have right now and is gone next year. It’s a simple equation why JG is playing. He’s the better QB despite faults. Has a higher ceiling with more room to grow and KC is gone after this year.

That was my point the other day. Coaching and play calling matters. Hank argued with me that the Rams were good because of their horses, then the next page said McVay is a genius.
I don’t think that was the whole context of the argument. Mcvay is great but they also made some great roster additions when he took over specifically on the OL.

I know there was an issue with Jauan Jennings last year specifically. He and a lot of other guys felt he (JG) was inserted into the QB competition artificially last year and that Dormady had clearly earned the job. They felt Butch handed everything to him and he never earned it. Recruiting promises and so forth. I don’t know if they were accurate in that feeling but it’s how they felt. It also came back up in JJ’s Instagram rant when he thought he was coming back from injury to play QB.

It also kind of explains why no one fought for him when that’s Florida player undercut him at the knees.

And Trey Smith was never going to play football again.

All of that can be true and one can still think that he is part of the problem this year

Anyway I’m not going to get in this discussion again. Been hashed out way too many times already

Only for brief moments, like when I think about retirement. Better for my kids that we waited and got our thinking straightened out some.
The only reason I wish we'd have started earlier is being more active with my kids, particularly my son. He enjoys athletics and I can't participate as much as I could have if I were younger.
