Watched some highlights of Florida game and truly amazing that as bad as it was if our WRs and TEs would have held onto the ball on some great JG throws under pressure we could have been right back in it.
Callaway had 2 TDs right in his hands he couldn't finish.
Pope touchback fumble cost a TD.
DWA let contact affect a catchable 4th down throw then another potential big play where if he caught he had lot of room to run.
No idea how palmer doesn't hold the deep bomb.
If BJ doesn't trip or is tougher he stays up and can high point that ball for a TD instead of Interception.
All this plus the turnovers just wow so many missed opportunities that we may be having different conversations about offense without turnovers and the playmakers making plays they should make
MATTHEW, MEMPHIS
Question/comment: “Hey, how are you?”
Pruitt: “Hey, Matthew.”
Matthew: “Hey, uh, two quick questions. First question is where would you say that we have improved the most since your first day walking into the office? And the second question is would you say that we’re right where you thought we would be going into Georgia week? Are we ahead of schedule? Are we a little behind? I’ll hang up and listen.”
Pruitt: “Well, I think we’ve improved in tons of areas on our football team since we’ve been here. It’s kind of hard to say exactly what that would be, because in the spring, there was lots of units that barely had a unit, based off injuries, and they didn’t participate in the spring. So I’ll just tell you this: I think every part of our football program has improved every week. You talk about where we’re at as a program, I can say this: I’m not disappointed in any part of our effort, what our kids are trying to do. I’m disappointed in myself for not having them prepared and executing it the way I would like to see them do it on Saturdays. I’m gonna continue to work and do my best to help ‘em get to where they can play at their best.”
I think we have to play KC some to limit the hits on JG. JG's a tough guy, but letting him be a human punching bag isn't a good strategy. KC sees the field better, gets the ball out quicker and he's a bigger guy. Either QB can hand off and make the short throws. We need them both.
If he recruits at a high level I believe he’ll win at a high level. Simple as that imo.
We have to try something to help our OL. JG is more “talented” but he has struggled this year at things he’s got an advantage over KC at. Ie: he floats and underthrows a lot of deep balls.
If KC can make quicker reads and get the ball out quicker and move a little in the pocket then i think it’s worth a shot. Put Jennings in the slot and let him and DWA work underneath. Take a shot every 3-4 drives to Calloway/Palmer. That helps our offense
It’s really a shame that we don’t have a mobile option at QB. Because at the very least we could run some version of the Kentucky offense that beat us when they used a WR. Draws and when you have to pass roll it out and get the ball out quickly.I think part of the conservative playcalling is the lack of trust. They don't trust the protection or the QB. They've been so concerned about TOs, and last week they got them. So it'll be interesting to see what changes for UGA.

Honestly I think the issue has been that our offensive line performs pretty well against our defensive line in practice. And as a result of that the coaches built a system thinking they could depend on them to be average to fair. It also explains the VQ guys and other media pumping them up before the season.
the comparison isn't between KY and GA or even us. it's that each situation is different, and the time required to bring about the change you want to bring is dependent upon those circumstances. all the things you listed are the reasons why it takes longer at KY than it should at TN, or as GA has already proven, at GA. that WAS the point. the differences.I know that Stoops and UK are all the rage right now but they aren't a good comparison. UK is experiencing a perfect storm right now. After this year, they lose a ton of seniors. The UK people I know are all about enjoying this season while it lasts because it's not something anyone thinks will be sustainable. Stoops has done well but more than anything he's brought UK back to being what they've been for most of their program history which is a solid team that can occasionally have a good year.

No doubt. Especially in years of transition and especially from media sites loosely tied to the university like VQ is. Very obvious they have a narrative to drive to draw attention and subscriptions.I really, really hope people stop putting stock into the spring and fall camp reports. Football season hasn't started, so how do we create interest, clicks, and reads? Hype up everything.
It's not like any of this is new. This has been going on for years.

i think this is pruitt's biggest challenge, and unfortunately, it may not totally resolve itself until there's some "addition by subtraction"....and the sooner the better, the last thing you want is that attitude seeping down from the veterans on this roster to the younger guys that have no other frame of reference. That's why everybody was more optimistic-- the players look better in practice than they do in games. The mental mistakes kill us. Players lose focus, make mistakes and the negative default patterns are triggered. Once things start going against us, the "here we go" attitude sets in, making them play even worse. We don't have a lot of gamers and virtually no leadership-- not a good combo for overcoming adversity.
I absolutely believe that is true in regards to freezing up when the lights come on - but a certain percentage of the issue has to be that both sides of the ball suck so when they perform well in practice it artificially inflates one side or another. That's why everybody was more optimistic-- the players look better in practice than they do in games.
