Based on what? He's a good athlete but has limitations as a thrower and I don't believe he wouldn't be able to run our offensive action. His splits are inflated against FCS and non ranked opponents.

He could certainly run around and make some plays with his feet. But could he make plays within the offense? I don't see it.

Taking grad transfers is more of a stopgap than a way to lay a foundation for a multi-year rebuild. Every one- or two-year player takes a spot away from a four-year player. We had immediate needs at C, QB and RB this year, so it made sense. But as a longer-term rebuilding strategy, it has a lower return.

In hindsight we shouldn’t have taken London and I’m iffy on Chryst. Would rather have the spots in this class instead.

Agreed. To do something right, there are no shortcuts. Pruitt needs to recruit like he's been recruiting (linemen, linemen, and more linemen) and get them started in S&C as soon as possible. Doesn't matter is we have the next Fromm, Fields, or Lawrence if we can't block or tackle.

this. there's situations it makes sense. but you're right, it's not a strategy for long term success.

we need to recruit as good, and better, as we are right now.

Wouldn’t mind getting the next JUCO Cam Newton. That’d be a nice shortcut.

Chryst is the best QB on the team right now. If they weren't worried about JG transferring because of the situation next year, Chryst would have started from day one IMO.

As a fan of his from his HS days, I have watched every snap since he went to TN. The kid is a real talent and deserves to get the ball. If you remember when he did get the ball, he was getting first downs and making nice returns. I don’t know what happened after his freshman year up there, but I see a lot of non-impact guys getting more touches than Byrd on both sides of the ball. Which, by the way, he could impact with his athleticism. Same goes for Carlin. He was a good running back when given the opportunity to carry the ball. He should have been left at running back. These are my opinions only.

Byrd should returning kicks and punts for sure. I don't get why they have who they have doing that right now. We need dynamic returners.

I just don’t think they would have burned a scholarship if they knew Chryst wouldn’t start over JG.

Now it doesn’t really matter. The QB isn’t going to make the difference in a bowl game or no bowl game, imo.

London’s contributing but not to a point where you burn 3 or 4 years of a freshman you could theoretically take. Just my opinion.

And if JG goes down I don’t think there’s a big difference between Chryst and McBride in regards to contributing to wins.
