  • Offensive play calling called into question. Seems to be a consensus here that it wasn’t a good game plan. Too many run calls; no adjustments.
  • Lots of discussion on whether the coaches had the team ill-prepared, or if the mistakes/turnovers are on the players. Much bickering here.
  • Need roster turnover.
  • Negas out in full force.
  • Sapp may or may not have actually refused to go in. Potentially some disagreement with a coach/GA and Sapp.
  • McClesky’s boy looking to transfer. We make sense as a landing destination.
Das it mane

How was that cringey?

It was stated earlier James Connor wanted to be known as a football player, not as a guy who went through chemo. Tessitore apparently completely ignored that and said it the first time Connor made a nice run. Booger then reminded him that Connor doesn't want that.

Flew a drone around / in Neyland before leaving down Sunday morning. The fog was just starting to lift. Thought y’all might enjoy these.

I really think we'll be okay. Again, full disclosure, I'm still waiting on a full game upload. I was only able to watch this highlight video:

It's hard to take positives out of a blowout loss like that and not appear to be a homer.

We're still screwing up and HARD sometimes. But I dunno, maybe it's some sort of bias on my part, but it seemed like 95% of our snaps last year were utterly lackluster half-hearted wgaf football, with the other 5% being the rare occasions we did something good. This year, it seems like (everyone come up with your own arbitrary percentage) 75% of our snaps are us doing something good and the remainder are colossal screw-ups on one or two guys.

JMO

I am normally a little more optimistic by nature, but like many of us here, I have been burned too many times by buying into the new guy too soon. I am trying to be a little more wait and see, but it's tough, because I want CJP to succeed in the worst way. It will probably just take one or two solid performances this year (that I think we will have) to get me fully on board. It's like playing golf, in some ways. I have never been at all good at it, and have not really played enough to get better. It is very difficult when you start out and I was getting close to totally giving up. Then, I lucked into a decent tee shot on a par 3 and made my first par. It just took that one shot to give me hope that I could learn to play the game.

Assuming we keep Ramel, and Jalen McClesky, Trey Knox and Javonta Payton all want to be a Vol in ‘19....

Which one are you taking?

Basilio's Blog this morning is hinting at a rumor that Pruitt pulled the play calling duties from Helton in the 3rd quarter and handed them over to Friend ? Any insiders got anything to add on this ?

I absolutely don't believe that. If that's the case this coaching staff is doomed to failure.
