Okay.
I begrudgingly went to see the alma mater play South Alabama with a group of friends. I knew I was going to miss the Florida game, but it was probably for the best. I followed the box score updates sparingly, which was enough to know it was a sh!tshow.
Yesterday, I ignored all sports outside of fantasy football, where my Cam Newton-->Christian McCaffery connection is tearing it up. I did see a couple of things about Sapp getting sent to the locker room, a late hit on JG, and all-around reactionary doom and gloom. I also saw the drive chart that started Fumble, INT, Punt, Safety, Crap, Crap, Crap all the way down.
Only now did I subject myself to the longest "highlight" video I could find available on YouTube. Yes, it did look bad. (It also sounded really bad, who's the boy scout that called the game? He's more generic than the commentators you'd hear on video games. Awful.) I did see some pressure from the DL. I saw some good runs. I saw competence in spots. It was just heavily outweighed by our bedwettings that Florida was able to take advantage of.
This is the first I've been to VN since Saturday morning. I'm not going to read through 1500 posts to catch up.
Unofficial poll, choose A, B, or C if you could:
A) We're only going to beat Charlotte now, and CJP's overall trajectory with Tennessee has dipped.
B) We may only beat Charlotte and maybe Vandy or something from here on out, but it's always darkest before dawn, and we should be patient with Pruitt. We'll still be alright in a couple/few years.
C) Florida was a fluke. They came out ready, and we crapped the bed under a lot of pressure. We still have a puncher's chance against Carolina/Mizzou/Kentucky/Vandy, and may still be able to get to a bowl game. We're on track, it was an ugly game.
Edit:
D) People who answer this are either too mentally exhausted, can't think critically, or think they're utilizing an edgy brand of humor.
