This is more of a 'in retrospect' type of comment than anything else but I really wish we'd have used JJ more in this game. Florida was literally bear hugging our WRs all night long while the refs did nothing. JJ would've put those DBs on their @sses and I think his attitude on the field was sorely needed. He's a straight up dog and this team needs one out there.

Here is a thing i noticed after rewatching the game on TV:

The turnover play on the strip sack/interception.

1. Jordan blows a blocking assignment. No doubt about it.

2. The ball should’ve been out already. This Just a simple clear out concept. The wr in the flat is already open, so JG has to do better at anticipating that.

Both of those are true. But there's another one. We literally have 7 guys blocking 4 and we got beat. I'm guessing that's a problem!

As of now we belong in the FCS :/ we should drop out of the SEC for a few years!

Attaboy!

In all seriousness, I don't think we're close to FCS. We look like and have the talent of a middling ACC, PAC, B12 or B1G team which in my eyes is just as bad. A lot of FCS and G5 teams are every bit as good (sometimes better) than middling P5 teams. The talent disparity in college football is at the very top rather than across the board. This is one reason why I just roll my eyes when people talk about dropping FCS teams for FBS or only playing P5 teams (I can find plenty of FBS teams that are as bad or worse than a lot of FCS teams).

When you look back two seasons ago, it’s hard to comprehend that we are here today

I don't think we're that different. What we had 2 seasons ago was a QB who could make up for a pisspoor OL and a DE that covered up the sins of an otherwise mediocre defense. Without those two players CBJ's recruiting and lack of development has been totally exposed. Add in the broken psyche he left this team to deal with and we're hoping to get to 4-5 wins.

Been quiet on here today but I keep coming back to this thinking especially after watching the Titans the last 2 weeks.

Imo Pruitt is the one setting the tone/plan for the offense. He feels the only way we can win is with games just like the Titans have played the last two weekends.

Now with that said it's hard to take the DC mind out of a some coaches imo. They always want to play defensive type games.
If that's the case with pruitt he very likely is putting handcuffs on Helton forcing a run , run, predictable 3rd down pass type plan that shortens the game.

Now I am not saying that plan isn't the thing to do. In fact I think that was needed against WV but it can't be the plan every week like it has been the first 4 weeks.

I thought I heard Pruitt say something on his Sunday morning show to the effect of “We can’t run the ball on every first down.”

How did Dan Mullen outcoach Jeremy Pruitt on Shamburger's fumble, giving them the ball, AGAIN, inside their own 20?
The turnovers were by far the biggest factor. It just appears that we did not come out ready to play and that there were not a great many in-game adjustments. We did get out-coached. Hopefully, that improves for us as our HC gets more experience. I think it will.

He did. You could tell he was unhappy with the runs on first down and the screen play that was intercepted. On one hand I'm glad he sees the problems. On the other hand he hears every call in his headset. He could have done something about the predictability in first down if he wanted.

The scapegoating of the coaches has begun i full force...burn em all..amirite? Let's hurry up and get our next hated ex-coaching staff up in here.

We finally have a staff of proven football guys if nothing else, and you freakin dumbasses want to burn em already for having a hard time getting a bunch of hardheaded, football stoopid q******s to execute the simplest of plays.

The problem is and was the players. Give these guys some football smart go getters, and it will amaze all of you how smart they all suddenly become.

Are you pro Chryst or pro JG at this point ? I am leaning Chryst. I'll hang up and listen.
I think going into this stretch, we should probably let JG get healthy and play Chryst who is built more for the brutality that could happen with this OL protecting him.. Thankfully we have four scholarship quarterbacks.

Typical McGill over reaction. No one is calling for them to be fired. There's absolutely nothing wrong pointing out when they screw up. But they make major bank so let's make sure we don't dare critisize them. Now the kids that bleed and sweat on the field for a scholarship, they're fair game.

He never got tangled up, it was supposed to be delayed. It was a great play by the end, he rushed and then recognized it was a screen, disengaged and dropped back as JG was releasing the ball. Even if Jordan caught it he was gonna be tackled right away, Ryan Johnson and DWA blocked the same dude (RJ whiffed) and left a LB to come flying in.

If you watch again his path got altered he should’ve never been behind the guy that intercepted it. He should’ve been more towards the middle of the field which would’ve been directly behind his two blockers.
