He's right. I would like to see CJP take his head out of the defense's ass and be a HC . No way Jordon should've been on the field when we are backed up on our own goal line. Our coaches obviously need help having the right personnel on the field in the right situations. That we were outcoached in every facet.
And on the fumbled kick return. And on the JG interception. And on the JG fumble. And on the deep pass interception. And on the safety. And on and on and on. We weren't out coached. We turned the ball over 8 times. Most of those turnovers were self inflicted. The deep interception was the only one that wasn't.How did Dan Mullen outcoach Jeremy Pruitt on that Austin Pope play? And I could go on...
I guess you think being ultra predictable is good for an OC with a shaky line....
Quick passes when they are expecting run. Keep them guessing. But then he's going to take more brutal hits. I realize we can't run block, but we can't pass block either. Much of the time they rushed 5 and we had 7 in to protect, and they still got pressure. More than once, I turned to my buddy sitting next to me and say "I have no idea what we're supposed to call here". Both were bad for much of the game.

Many of those things could be attributed to bad play calls or putting players in bad situations. You all criticize putting Jordan in against our goal line. Saying he bounces it out too much. Who put him in? Who chose the play to hand it to him 6 yards deep in the end zone with this line?
Who called the two run plays on first and second down to put us in a must pass situation leading to that interception?
I think I'll believe coach Mathews rather than a bunch of armchair coaches.
Have always enjoyed Mathews' shows, but I've began to lose respect for his analysis. Things seem like they rarely unfold how he thinks they will. Said the freshman class a couple of years ago was "the best he's seen up there in a long time" or something of that sorts. Said Chandler might be the best back he's ever seen up there, a lot of stuff like that. He's wrong a lot. This is the same guy that said our 2017 class was Butch’s best class ever, right?
Can't tell me Pruitt doesn't get the final say in all of the calls going through the headsets. He keeps his head up the defenses ass way too much. That's something he's gonna have to work on. Also preparing his team mentally for big games is another. We had 2 turnovers last week, then 6 on one night. Huge jump , something had these kids rattled @ home. That should never happen. Many of those things could be attributed to bad play calls or putting players in bad situations. You all criticize putting Jordan in against our goal line. Honest question, on the 2nd turnover, did you know we were gonna run a screen? I did.
No but you don't run it up the middle for no gain on first and second down and put yourself in third and long every time and expect different results. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. What if we rolled the pocket once? Or maybe twice? What about Will Overstreet. Apparently he talked this morning about how being so subpar on OL handcuffs your play calling. You can’t call QB rollout every snap for an entire half, much less for a full game.
