I agree that the end result of the season would probably be 6-7 wins but I would see it as a Vols team improving and gaining confidence and a Florida team that’s either regressing or stagnant. These teams are eerily similar and the winner will tell a whole lot about the state and mentality of the 2 programs. If we lose at home against this Florida team I will be very worried for the future.
This game has nothing to do with the future beyond this season. All a loss tommorow confirms for me is that this is just a bad team with a massive amount of problems, and that they are too many in number to fix quickly enough for our liking.

A win would mean a lot more to me..It would show that the older guys are responding to coaching, and actually growing and learning as players.

Bingo. Sound =/= unbeatable

Vandy is also sound-- reliable defense, good QB. Still beatable, and will likely have a losing record when we visit them. As could Kentucky when they come visiting.
Show me where I said we couldn't beat them? I said it would be tough to win those games. They are better football teams than we are "right now"..."to this point".

We need to improve before those games, to become a more fundamentally sound football team, and it is going to be hard to do that when we are getting our teeth kicked in for a month.

McGill, I like your Kentucky pick. I won't be surprised if Miss. St. wins, but it will be an one score game, either way, imo.

If Hurts is stupid enough to let Saban screw him over like this...I mean he is responsible for letting this happen to him. The devil is doing what is best for himself..he doesn't give a spit about Hurts.

I do not understand why kids go play for a bastard like that.
They must enjoy winning and kicking the doo doo out of everybody

Do you really think Kentucky can stop MSU, and conversely move the ball on MSUs defense? I don't think Wilson has what it takes to win the game with his arm, and he would have to for them to have much of a chance. UK will not run at will on MSU imo. It will be tough sledding.

U are the one that picked Kentucky in the first place and let everybody talk u out of it. Mississippi State beat one decent (maybe?) team and 2 cupcakes. It's at Kentucky and I think it will be a very close game

(I was agreeing with you, just expanding on the point)

If we pull off the monumental upset and win tomorrow we will win 6.
18 point dogs in 2001, going into the Swamp, a place we had not won at since 1971, against MAYBE Spurrier's best team he ever had at UF, who happened to be ranked #2 in the country...THAT was a monumental upset.

When did I pick Kentucky over MSU? I don't remember doing that.

The possibility of Miss State beating KY bu 10 or more points is not all that unfathomable.
No, it's not, especially if the game was in StarkVegas, but it's not. Miss. St. is getting all this hype because they blew out 2 cupcakes and maybe an average K-State team. Yes, MSU defense looks good, but I think KY has something for them in Lexington. We will know soon
