And interior OL that have been blown off the ball several times by every team we have played. I hope I’m wrong but we will need to get creative to run the ball between the tackles imo.
Yep. Our RBs are pretty good and all, but they're gonna need a lot more help in SEC play

Who's got the recipe for gator tail?

Cause we gonna eat, fellas.

Seriously though. I need a recipe. I screwed it up last time I tried.

Especially on the right side of the O-line. Seems to be where most of the whiffs and errors are coming from.

The whiffs kill me. There was the pulling guard example earlier, that sucks, but it's a lot more palatable than seeing a guard bypass an unblocked DT for the next level. That's the difference between a two yard gain and a two-plus yard loss.

So what does this mean, he was keeping a few guys a little more fresh while getting backups some reps?

I can stand to see more Bain and Gooden. (dunno why Gooden didn't play v. UTEP when he had himself a day against ETSU)

Jennings and DKJr are now 100%

Hopefully Locklear can hold his own and provide good depth if we need to kick Chance out to RT any.

Every elite coach has a big jump in year 2. I’m not saying fire the guy if we go 8-4 but by the end of next year we’ll know where he falls in the pecking order.
This is the most misleading statistic in all of sports. The year two jump. It only works when an elite coach takes over an elite program that already had elite talent.

Still undecided. I like most of our matchups in this game but I keep going back to how poorly the OL has played so far and I'm just not sure they'll give us much of a chance to take advantage of our weapons.
That's what I'm afraid of. If we just had an o line that was at least serviceable I'd like our chances. I don't think Florida is a quality team, but we are so bad up front on offense I just can't hardly picture us overcoming it. We have to win this game if we're going bowling IMO.

Saban 08? Urb 06? OSU 12? Auburn 10? Oklahoma 2000? That statistic isn't misleading. I'm not saying I expect a championship in year two, but we need to make a major improvement upon year one. If we have the right guy, we'll win 8 next year at the least.

By that point he’d have two of his own recruiting classes and two full years in a system/strength and conditioning program.

I stand by it - we’ll know what he’s got next year. If he’s elite he’ll beat the likes of Mississippi State and Florida next year.

They're giving up over 220 yards of rushing per game. That doesn't exactly strike fear.
Yet another paper superstar at Florida along with Chauncey Gardiner. Both these guys get injured almost every game and have very mediocre stats. Neither of them have ever jumped off the page or game tape that I’ve watched it I watch every Florida game living down here.

I think Year 3 is a more fair metric.

Three classes, two of them with at least one full year in the S&C program, and depending less and less on players you didn't recruit. Not to take away from the Year 2, but all programs and beginning circumstances are different. I'm a proponent of giving a little more time before eyeballing the pitchforks.

Just saw this pic of Fitzpatrick. I think the gold chains on the man fur are a nice touch.

This is a total rebuild, not a patch job. Botch left this a nuclear wasteland. We will be better next year, but putting absolutes out like that is dim imo. This is one of the worst teams in the SEC right now.

Pruitt had barely any time to assemble the first class and we have questionable talent. We’ll improve next year but I won’t expect 10+ wins till 2020.

No pitchforks. We’re grading on the curve of elite. 7 or 8 wins next year is a fair result and should be met with enthusiasm.

But winning 9 or 10 would tell everyone we’ve really got something. 7 or 8 says we’re building and we’ll see next year.

9 or 10 and it’s likely we’ve got a coach in the realm of Urban, Dabo, Kirby, Patterson, Petersen, etc. 7 or 8 and it’s still positive albeit unclear.

So therein lies the rub.. basically what all sports "arguments" come down to, is how to define "elite", clarify expectations, justify comparisons.

Took Dabo a lot longer than two years to get "elite". Kirby ain't won nothin' yet, Paaawwwl. Patterson may have gotten snubbed from a BCS game back when TCU was MWC, but he had a great shot against an elite Ohio State team this last weekend and couldn't get the job done. Peterson has won the Pac, but got blown out by Bama in their only CFP appearance.

But you're right, 9-10 in 2019, we're onto something. I just hope our crazies don't think that CJP is an abject failure if we're only able to scrounge out 7 with maybe an outside shot at 9-10 in 2020, a year behind that "excellence" curve.
