Tennessee continued their Florida preparations on Tuesday afternoon as the Vols and Gators tangle Saturday night.

For the Vol defense, the individual periods for the linebackers and defensive backs looked like they do every Tuesday with tackling drills and ball skill work for the defensive backs. For the defensive line, the work looked to be much more specific working on various gap responsibilities against Florida's run game. Some more extensive work the the second unit that included Paul Bain, Matthew Butler and Emmit Gooden as well.
Despite the fact that we’re moving into the fourth week of the season cross training continues for some guys on the offensive line. Riley Locklear—who finished the game playing well last week at left guard—got work at both guard spots today. Chance Hall, who almost exclusively has worked at guard, got some reps at left tackle today. Hall did not play a snap last week. Trey Smith was working solely at left tackle
The right tackle spot looked the same with Drew Richmond and Marcus Tatum working there and while it's early in the week it looks like the Vols aren't making any line up changes up front.
Interestingly at tight end, and this may have been going on for awhile but was just now noticed, Ja’Quain Blakely worked off to the side working on the blocking dummy for a couple of periods aside from the other tight ends, maybe suggesting that he’s going to be moving into more of a full time fullback role.
Tennessee's receivers continue to catch the ball well in the parts of practice we get to watch. Jauan Jennings seems to be not only getting his legs back but also getting his confidence back.
Finally on defense, Darin Kirkland Jr. who has for the last few weeks been on the side working on the bike and things during individual periods was not today as he got all the reps with his teammates at linebacker while we were allowedto observe.

yes. Ce Ce JEfferson is a good SEC DL and would probably play for any other SEC team. they've got some youth elswehre, and i'm not sure how deep they are, but Ce Ce is the anchor and someone you have account for.

They're giving up over 220 yards of rushing per game. That doesn't exactly strike fear.

Did Michael J Fox do this formatting?

More margin for error at OG. Locklear and Carvin showing progress...neither can play LT. And once again, Trey isn’t playing bad...just rusty from no contact off-season.
Trey has played badly the past two weeks.

Maybe it is just rust and he’ll shake it off soon, but saying he hasn’t been bad is next-level spin.

The big question, IMO, is how much worse our other options must be.

But we have a stable of RB’s capable of combining for 300.

And interior OL that have been blown off the ball several times by every team we have played. I hope I’m wrong but we will need to get creative to run the ball between the tackles imo.

Pruitt is a sandbagging S.O.B. ! Never play Rook or Spades with him.

So what does this mean, he was keeping a few guys a little more fresh while getting backups some reps?

I can stand to see more Bain and Gooden. (dunno why Gooden didn't play v. UTEP when he had himself a day against ETSU)

Jennings and DKJr are now 100%

Hopefully Locklear can hold his own and provide good depth if we need to kick Chance out to RT any.
