The key point behind my opinion of wanting him inside is I don't think he was a good LT last year. I get that he might be rusty but last year is the key for me. I just don't thinks he's good out there and if we are going to struggle there we might as well be elite inside. Right now we aren't good at either imo
Be “elite” inside and a turnstile at LT...recipe for success.

What's odd is when Smith went out those few plays against WV, 57 replaced him and I think he played well. It was the scoring drive iirc. I don't think he's played much at all since. Maybe he isn't close to being ready but he certainly isn't talked about much as an option.
What’s odd is that was a “few plays”, and I didn’t get the same impression. LT is a full time position...Trey’s the only player that’s played it effectively for a WHOLE GAME.

our 2020 schedule is going to look a lot like this:

UNC-Charlotte
@Oklahoma
Furman
Florida
@Georgia
@Arkansas
Alabama
@South Carolina
Cupcake
Kentucky
Missouri
@Vanderbilt

Say what you will about that (again) mid-season stretch, but I like the schedule.

Tune-up
Legit but winnable test
Tune-up
@ F*** Florida
BYE1
Georgia
State
@ Bama
Carolina
UAB
@ Kentucky
BYE2
@Mizzou
Vandy

Two bye weeks. That's actually really cool and should be pretty beneficial.

Away games are spread out.

NO NEUTRAL SITE GAMES. Bristol was awesome, but Charlotte looked really ****** on TV. Let's open the season at home from now on.

And about that stretch. Good teams rise to the occasion. I get that it's brutal, but it's not like the team goes in with the same mentality that the fans do.

Honestly really like this and hope there are no changes.

Why in the F would we go out to Okla!? Why can't we get back the days of hitting a PAC-12 team...?? That's more our speed right now, or in the next few years...

Sorry Butcha. I ain't seen an effective WHOLE game and I don't respect your opinion on offensive line play. I'll take PFF any day over what you think you see.

This staff will have this team primed and ready by 2020. Not saying we’ll be NC contenders. Am saying I’ll fear no one.

So, Fulmer was wrong for saying we can play with ANYONE, ANYTIME?

Vince F with an interesting stat. Tennessee defense through three games has been on the field for an average of 57 plays. This time last year was 73 Including 96 against GT. Less snaps should allow us to hold up a little bit more as the season goes along
No doubt about it our offensive plan is to shorten the game. We did that to perfection the first half against WV as well

RG No. 75 🤦🏻‍♂️

Maybe Carvin did what he was supposed to. If the play had gone outside he was there as a lead blocker. The defense had too many guys playing contain (perhaps because Carvin was running wide), and that created the running lane for the RB. Had those defenders played tighter then the RB would have went wide and Carvin was there to do his job. In a way Carvin was a decoy on the play to draw the defenders out wide... I wouldn’t dog Carvin for this play not knowing his assignment, but there is reason for me to believe him not touching anyone was ok on an 8 yard run.
