Just wait until.we bring alcohol. INTO the stadium. I am sure that will make things a whole lot better in the student section.

I was such a noob about bringing it in ... many years ago, the lady cop patted me down, and was disappointed, perhaps, that what she found in my overalls pocket was only a tall Bud.

I walked right in once with a red solo cup full of beer. It didn't dawn on me until I saw the troopers standing about 50 feet up the ramp. I put it down to my side and got behind a couple of people and strolled on by.
@?$/*¥% terrorists screwed it up for everybody!

Little frat boy`s showing out for other little frat boys. Little Miss Sugar peaches was giggling and impressed by the blatant disrespect for the announcers pleas. In the meantime Daddy deposits another check as he proudly tells the bank clerk his son is majoring in liberal Arts. Little Miss Sugar peaches calls home with the news she just found her significant other. Who won the game peaches? "Oh Daddy"

That nailed it to perfection.

Every fan base does have it, but UT games are usually safe for opposing teams. That isn’t true in the Swamp, hence my strong feeelings for the fans there. It doesn’t happen in LSU’s Death Valley either. Both of those stadiums are places to stay away from in my book. At The Swamp, I’ve been cussed out, threatened to fight, thrown beer on. I did observe a few years ago at UT in the apartment section some OU fans who were walking through there and from a second floor balcony 2 young men called out to them, told them they were trash and proceeded to drop their drawers and show them the moon and turn around to show them that they were truly fully “grown” men. That was really the only deplorable action that I have even seen at a UT game.

So which pair are you most familiar with ?
I suppose the word 'guess' just slipped by your scan, but knowing the strength of character of my friend vs a snide comment from a faceless poster on a message board would give me all the info I needed to make the assertion.

I blame this on the University. No security. Fans that do these kinds of things should be removed from the stadium immediately. A stiff fine and ban should be considered.
People are getting concerned about taking their kids to games.
Where in the hell was security?.

I’ve been to UT games in Gainesville (at night) and Baton Rouge (day game) and had zero problems...even though each game went down to the wire and I spent too much time in local bars before and after each game (Purple Porpoise anyone?). I enjoyed my experience at both places.

You can’t let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. Ignore the jack@$$e$ and gravitate towards the sane crowd.

The same committee that thinks it's a good idea to serve alcohol at the game.

Don't think the beer at games will be that big of a deal. People will come in drunk and for the most part not get drunk at the game itself. The prices of beer will make not impossible but hard to do. Now giving fans a free knife with the purchase of a beer, not such a good idea.

If they cant act civilized cut their discount.. You want to get drunk and act stupid do it at home or face consequences. Well they're just college kids is not an excuse for acting a fool

If by "college kids" you mean people aged 18 to as old as 22 that are legal adults in the eyes of the law, yes.

Let them, or anyone that attends a football game, be it at UT, ETSU, Meigs County, wherever, drink, cheer, have fun, whatever. But if they do anything that has a reasonable chance of causing damage or hurting someone, even if unintentionally, make it known that nany game that happens at will be their last Vols game they can attend, at least through the end of the season.

Nothing about a UT game or any sports game is worth risking a night or more in the Knox County Jail.

Has our coach addressed this problem yet? I remember Choke Jones getting on to the fans either during a press conference or on one of the CBJ shows.. that it would not be tolerated.

I'll probably get chewed out by someone for saying this but I miss our "Good Bye" chants back in the day when we would upset a rival/ranked opponent at Neyland.

What does throwing fans have to do with damaging stuff or people?

If you only "knew" one pair then you'd have to guess.... just sayin'

This always makes me laugh when folks say this. How do you enforce it? Even at a lower than normal than turnout you have 90+ thousand people filling in. You going to ask them to wear a sign? Short of tattooing it on their face their is no way to enforce it.

If they act like a horses rear, give them the boot. But if they want in they will go. You will just have to keep kicking them out if they continue acting the fool.

I hope you will give LSU Tiger Stadium a try some day. Though I have lived here many years, when the Vols play here, I wear orange. LSU fans will yell "Tiger Bait!!!" in your face, but if you are ready for it and just grin or yell possum bait back at em, they will ease up on ya and just ask where ya from, safe travels home, etc.

I think the pint bottle salvo into the UF section following the Gaffney no catch was the worst episode I saw. Every Jack Daniels bottle for 3 sections got hurled their way.

In my experience Georgia has the worst fans. I’ve never seen so many home team fans fight each other at a game.

I have been going to vols games for over 40 years. I have carried a Big Gulp with a pint of Gin in it more than once and can say even when I was young NONE and I mean NONE of my friends and I have ever found a need to act like an A$$ toward another teams fans. Those that do it just says alot about themselves and how they were raised.
