Sucks that we actually have good practice structure now. (We literally set up our practice schedules and builds exactly like bama) and we get an unlucky injury in practice.
It's just the curse in action. The odds that this kind of stuff happens like it does to us (not just injuries) has to be astronomical at this point.

Okay dude. Sorry I pointed out that the injury situation so far is way better than the past few years at this point in the season. Didn't realize it would be taken as an attack damn. You talk about "inflators" dumping on you for how you describe the kids on our favorite team, but I can't say

Whatever man. I won't try to inflate anyone with factual statements about areas of improvement anymore. All y'all realists act like a statement like that is some sort of personal attack and then when something goes bad bring up these "attacks" in I told you we sucked posts. I'm really not trying to attack you man. We've always had disagreements but have been cool, and I'm pretty sure I've always been fair in my responses. I don't really think you were taking a personal shot at me, just not sure why my seemingly innocent post sent you on that rant.
I didn't take what you said as an attack..why did you take it that way? I was just discussing the ramifications of losing good players is magnified on this team. Sorry for the confusion.

Woke up in the morning gotta thank God, I don’t know but today seems kinda odd.

No barking from the dog.

No smog.

And momma cooked a breakfast with no hog.

I got my grub on, AND FLORIDA STILL SUCKS!

That’s all.
My mind is a raging torrent flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into waterfall of creative alternative.... And indeed Florida still sucks!

People are already giving up on JJ Peterson? Lol smh
Battered vol syndrome. It only took one beat down for the “ Pruitt ain’t the guy, or player x is a bust” talk to spread. The kid is a stud and is 18. It’s so easy to get in shape at that age... one freshman linebacker isn’t changing the season for us. I bet he’s getting reps by mid year and it’s going to take all year to settle into a new way to play football. Pruitt is having to revamp everything down to how these kids are mentally when the lights come on.

Does that really surprise you on VN?

A lot of people project realistic expectations as negativity.

JJ hasn’t been working out and has had a hard time getting through his coursework. It’s going to be a tough adjustment given he will have to get in shape, acclimate to his classes and then learn the defensive system.

It’s why when he got in I said he’s very likely to be a 4 game redshirt (unless he comes in and blows away all expectations.) It’s not the end of the world. He can be a difference maker for us in November. Maybe even sooner!

Haha that's one of the calls I was talking about. The other was a caller talking some isht about WVU players eating during halftime and their coach thinks that's why they won the game. Then he asked if CJP cared to comment on UT's halftime procedure. Hahaha you can't make this stuff up.
Actually, you can. It's called fiction...there's a whole section of the library devoted to people who "made this stuff up."

All I ask is they find a way to "tutor" JJP through school for 3 seasons. True talent always rises to the top. He's got it. Comparing to Chris Donald is a fail, IMO.

Kennedy is a loss, but so is not playing orange blooded physically imposing guys that signed up for 4 years on the gridiron on the hill. They can't develop sitting on the bench. They will not want to give their all for Tennessee if they sit every game. It is a self fulfilling prophecy of failure. I hope CJP has this figured out.

The schemes have been only one issue with performance in all position groups. The selection of who gets the most snaps and acceptance that young talent will make mistakes is important. That young talent can also compensate for mistakes with talent to recover. You can't just dip your toes in the water in a youth movement when trying to overcome a 4-8 disaster and the HC/staff being fired. In the next two weeks find out who can play and has upside. Then go with them no matter their age and experience. If CJP does that, the long term benefit will outweigh the results of this season.

JJ Peterson had a workout program, access to one of the best HS facilities in the South and a HS coach who was expected to help him achieve his target goals. But he came in very out of shape. No point RSing him-- nobody expects him to be around four years. He'll play as soon as they can bring him up to game speed, then manage his PT.

I'm curious, do you know if the four games have to be in the first four games of the year? Do they have to be continuous, like the games 1-4 or 1,2, 6, 10?

It's definitely a fine line he has to walk. Sacrifice this season for long term benefits and having the fans check out early or play who gives you the best chance to win and maybe win a game or two you might not with the youngins. Frankly I don't think it matters, don't see the win total being affected one way or the other.
