QB- poised, confident, made the right decisions, didn’t take sacks, didn’t turn the ball iver, showed command of the offense

RB - ran hard, fell forward consistently, Jordan averaged 5.9 ypc

WR - caught everything, ran solid routes, blocked pretty good, showed toughness, good YAC, were consistently open

After our offensive line settled in.. we actually looked nice on offense. It will be interesting how JG looks these next two games Bc i don’t think they will play as soft of coverage as WVU did. Hopefully we hit on a couple shots Saturday.

I am assuming VT's D line players were not as highly ranked coming in out of high school as ours, and they are getting stupid push and penetration on Fl St..... Almost hanging out in the backfield... Good example of what a good coach/staff can do to develop the talent they have...

Also, if Butch was coaching Fl St tonight (ha ha very funny) they would have rolled over and died by now... FL St not giving up and fighting back... they have the no quit, no give up mindset that we don't seem to have ...

FTR FSU’s OL was pretty bad last year too.

But yeah, Foster is great at what he does.

And I think VT found a HC that is basically a perfect fit for them. Smart Xs and Os guy, knows how to develop talent on his side of the ball and delegate to giant defensive staff, usually does a good job adapting his scheme to the players he has on offense, and doesn’t seem like the type who would try to parlay success at VT into a huge contracts elsewhere.

They look better than last year for a start! Rbs ran hard and with a purpose. WR routes appeared crisp. JG looked like a diff qb from last year. Again, once the Oline gels, I think we will score some points. Question is, will D show up to help?!

Ok. Like I said not being negative. But I don't think JG made right decisions. I saw at least 4 plays where we had a receiver make a move and was wide open for a big play and JG either didn't see it or passed it up for the easier shorter gain.

RB's in my opinion it's hard to tell with Chandler not playing the whole game. Jordan had a great game, even with his missed running assignments. Not taking that away from him. Don't think he has that big play ability though.

WR's are also tough to judge since we didn't stretch the field at all. I didn't see any glaring plays/drops so that's a positive.

I guess overall I'm not writing them off. After all it's only one game. But I didn't see much I liked. What worries me the most is every opponent WVU played last year scored more than 14 points. Delaware State included.

You misportrayed me with all this goofy white knight can’t handle dissent bullshizz and then double downed with ole negavol standby’s like sunshine and unicorns. If this is what you’ve turned into then have peace with it...you were a good one.

He still is and you still are. Now stop 👅 each other’s balls like Georgia fans.

Dang, either FL St's O line is bad or VT's Dline is really good. Heck, the way they are playing, if we had VT's Dline/DE's, we'd have probably won or come close to winning the game against WV...

Kinda of feel like you went out of your way to find negatives.

Laura Rutledge is a fox. Whoever her husband is is a lucky cat. Gets to do the ol buckasaurus with her for the rest of his life.

JG did miss some opportunities. I saw that from the stands. With as porous as our Oline started out, I can't blame him for getting rid of the ball quick and not going through all his progressions.
I was just happy to see separation from the WRs. Period. Last year it was non existent.
As for WVU D, everyone I know up here, some that are very close to the program, said the D is much improved over last year. I/we chose not to believe it. They are obviously better than we anticipated.
Let's. It forget the S/C downfalls we suffered under Botch as well. Wvu was faster than us at a lot of positions. Never in my life did I think that 2/3 stars would have more athleticism than a roster of 4/5 stars, but they did.

I hope you are right. I'm not going all in until I see results on the field. It's a tall task. We've been told by the UTAD that we had great coaches for 10 years. Forgive me for being skeptical when it comes to what the university spits out.

Heck invol, I ain’t all in. Still waiting and seeing. Just like how he’s handling the job right now. Felt like we would lose Saturday and we did. After that first series, I was like are you freaking kidding me. Was ready to choke some dang fools. Why I ain’t coaching them boys.

So you didn't buy into Dooley or Butch?
NEVER, not one single day that they were here, and that includes the days they were hired. Now, did I support them, absolutely...right up to the point where I could no longer. But, to answer your question, no. This is why I just now joined VolNation, because I'm fully bought into Fulmer and Pruitt; and the last 8 years, I really had nothing good or positive to say about the direction the program was heading.
I now understand you guys that "like to keep it real" a little bit better. If you are young, like Chief, you guys have no idea what a dominate UT program looks like, just like my nephew's. I hate that for them, and for you all. Because some of us has witnessed it, in those days, we NEVER would have said UT was going to lose to anybody. It had nothing to do with "keeping it real".
Yes, a lot of the things that you and Chief and some of the others have said are dead on, you just won't ever hear me say them, especially tripping over myself like some of you, just to shove it down everyone's throats. I understand now, it's just a different generation of fan. I'll give you an example: last year I was working up north with a bunch of Bama fans. They asked me my prediction of the UT-Bama game. Yes, I kept it real in my own head, but I will take an ass kicking before I ever say aloud Bama, or ANYONE, is going to beat us. I prefer to stay silent. Did I think we could beat WV, absolutely...I was wrong. But even if I thought WV would win, I'd never feel proud (like it seems some do) to say it.
I've been reading you guys since Sat. As I said, I now understand better the differences between the ones who have experienced it, and those that haven't. To those in their early 20's, imo, except for 2001, it has been mostly failure after failure, so I can understand the need to push and push our shortcomings, it's all you've ever really seen.
If we ever do turn it around, and you guys get to experience UT as a top 5-7 program, you all will understand where some of us are coming from, if those that come after you are maybe saying the same things, if we fall again.

So, got married this weekend. Wife’s idea to get married on Sunday so it wouldn’t conflict with the game on Saturday.

That lady is a keeper, folks.

At least you ain’t having to spank your own monkey. Just wait till after the kids come. After they all come then you don’t anymore.
