I'm not moving anything. This whole conversation was in context to this job.Ok so now you are moving the goalposts. So you are separating coaches that took over places they already were? What does that matter? Dabo has taken Clemson to places way further than they had ever been in recent memory.
Yes it can help but there’s countless examples of coaches who don’t have it that instantly work. So to act like it’s just one of the most important things is just silly. Specifically at this university and in this conference.
Do you really want me to go find all the coaches promoted to FBS schools without head coaching experience that failed ? I mean I can don't at but I really don't have time. But I will if you want me to.Well this job if anything should tell you that it shouldn’t really matter.
The last coach we hired with no head coaching experience won us a national title.

The two off the top of my head are Norm Chow and the dude that was at Syracuse before babers. Oh yeah, Charlie Weis, he was a big success. Oh yeah the Oregon OC that took over for Chip. Those are without Google.
Surely you don't want me to list all the coaches with previous head coaching experience that have prospered. I mean Urban, Saban, Brian Kelly.
I'm actually not all that impressed with Jordan either. He had a good day, but he doesn't look like an upper echelon back in this league. He's a Tauren Poole IMO. Chandler has big play ability but he just looks really small. Hoping Banks improves enough through the year to where he can get some clock.I finally got to watch that show, and I noticed our head coach didn't seem as impressed with Jordan as I was. Interesting article.
One big reason why Tennessee Vols fans should feel good about Jeremy Pruitt

There are plenty. I was just naming off the top of my head. Head coaching experience is a factor whether you or Hank want to admit it. If I'm not mistaken Coach Fulmer thought it was important too before he started his search.Yes I know. Ironic how you just dismissed all the guys I listed who were successful at making that exact same jump because at that moment it didn’t fit your argument lol now it does, so you bring up Helfrich
Didn’t see any other way to take it. Skipping your royal bloodline conspiracy and cartoon villain imagery, let me ask. Did you see an unprepared team Saturday? Or were they overmatched? There you go jumping off that cliff again. Generalizations and exaggerations? you're the king of generalizations and exaggerations. You take one phrase that you took wrong and blew up into I'm one of your neggatron arch enemies.
Ouch. I know folks won't like it, but the success Tennessee had in the 90's was an outlier for the program traditionally. It also doesn't matter, because nobody cares. You can win a championship at Tennessee, but there's at least 12 or 13 other programs across the country where I think you can do it easier. For those of us that experienced Tennessee Football in the 90’s first hand, we are very lucky. If I had to wager, we won’t see Tennessee play at that level consistently ever again.
Its my opinion that I won’t see it again from Tennessee. I know that may seem a bit extreme but really how I feel. I will always continue watching, supporting them but I don’t see any coach turning this thing around anytime in the next decade.

Using that Weis reference as the crux of your argument, why did Notre Dame sign him to a mega contract extension a year or so in? Because he came out the stocks blazing. Even your failures have their narratives. The two off the top of my head are Norm Chow and the dude that was at Syracuse before babers. Oh yeah, Charlie Weis, he was a big success.
